Seeing Stars

Happy Friday, Crafty Friends! I spent a huge amount of time in my craft room the past few days, preparing for the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. There are lots of products I just had to have, but I haven’t used them in a while, so I need to show them a lot of love before they’re gone!

Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter is one of those products. I love Dazzling Diamonds. It’s so subtle, but adds a wallop of sparkle. Since our Heat & Stick Powder retired years ago, I don’t use it as much, but I still love it. Sadly, it will not be in the next Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.

Another product I thought would be fun was the Shimmer Embossing Powder, available in Black and White. I used to make my own Shimmer Embossing Powder by adding Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to different Stampin’ Emboss Powders. It was fun to just sprinkle shimmery powder on and not have to add a step by adding glitter. Sadly, the shimmer powders will also be retiring.

Today’s card uses several retiring products – Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter, Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, and the Stargazing Stamp Set.

I chose one of the See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper (DSP) patterns for the background. It reminded me of a night sky. I decided to add a few stars from the Stargazing Stamp Set in VersaMark Ink so I could emboss with the Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stargazing Stamp Set in Pacific Point Classic Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, then punched with the punched with the Everyday Label Punch. It was a little naked, I thought, but I didn’t want to hide any more of the gorgeous DSP. I decided to add a little Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter along the edges of the punched piece. I simply added a little glue from the Fine-Tip Glue Pen along the edge, then added the glitter.

Everything on this card is retiring except the punch, card stock, and ink. The Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter, See a Silhouette DSP, Shimmer White Embossing Powder, and the Stargazing Stamp Set will all be retiring June 2.
