#KeepStamping
Hi, Crafting Friends! I’ve been checking in on my local stamping “peeps,” and many of them have been using their unexpected “free time” to craft. They’re crocheting, knitting, sewing (mostly masks!), making cards, and more. It’s important to do something that makes you happy, especially during this crazy time.
Stampin’ Up!® is offering a #keepstamping challenge every week to keep people crafting (especially with Stampin’ Up!® products, of course). I’ve found that when I’m doing something creative, I’m happier and more at peace. It doesn’t matter if I’m creating a card, playing the piano, reading, planting flowers, or writing in my journal, it helps keep me grounded.
This week’s challenge is to use Pool Party, Pretty Peacock, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso on a project. You can use as many of the colors as you want.
I decided to use all four.
First, apologies to my dear friend Susan. I hope she has enough antihistamines on hand, because sponging, crumpling, ripping and other “vintage” techniques give her hives. I had originally thought to send this card to her, but I may rethink that. Susan is a “clean and elegant” stamper. All her projects are absolutely gorgeous, but you won’t see tearing or sponging or scrunching. They are all very clean and beautiful.
I inked the roses from the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set in Pool Party Classic Ink, then sponged a little Pretty Peacock on the inked stamp using a sponge dauber. Then I stamped on Very Vanilla Cardstock. The filler flowers are stamped in Pretty Peacock.
Next, I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake Classic Ink. I used my Stamparatus, because I wanted to stamp part of the sentiment in Early Espresso. After I stamped in Crumb Cake, I inked the stamp with Early Espresso, then used a Blender Pen to remove the ink from the I love our part. I love that the beautiful friendship part stands out!
Finally, I sponged the edges of the card with Crumb Cake Classic Ink and a Stamping Sponge. I layered the stamped panel to a Pretty Peacock layer, then to a Crumb Cake card base.
I love the combination of neutral and muted colors. You can join the challenge! Simply create a project using one or more of the challenge colors, then post to social media using the hashtag #keepstamping. Keep doing what you love, even when life seems bleak.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a beautiful day!

Thanks, Jackie! I haven’t used Beautiful Friendship much, but it’s such a lovely set. I thought it would be nice with these colors.

A gorgeous combination of flowers & colours! The soft sponging is perfect (and not too much, I think!)

Your card is gorgeous even with the dirty fingerprints you accidentally left on them (just kidding)! I am just jealous because I can not make gorgeous vintage cards like you do.
