Ornate French Countryside
The Stampin’ Up!® Ornate Garden Suite (a pre-release from the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog) has been available to demonstrators since the beginning of March. I didn’t pre-order the products, because I had so many other stamps from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog and the January-June Mini Catalog that hadn’t been inked yet, and I couldn’t justify ordering more.
But then the Covid-19 Quarantine hit, and I spent a lot of time in my stamp room. So much time, in fact, that I could justify buying the Ornate Garden Suite!
I decided to pair the Ornate Layers Dies with the French Countryside Stamp Set (and the Stamparatus), and I got this.
I placed the stamp in my Stamparatus with Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, then inked the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers. I inked just a little area of the stamp at a time, then stamped on the Watercolor Paper, repeating until I was happy with the results.
After the image was finished, I used an Aqua Painter to dab a little water over some of the images to fill them in (like the tree and the other greenery and the roof). The Stampin’ Write Markers I used were Smoky Slate, Garden Green, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Gray Granite, Basic Gray, and Cajun Craze.
I used the second to largest Ornate Layers Die-cut to cut the frame from Purple Posy Cardstock. I used my Paper Trimmer to cut out the center, then layered the French Countryside image behind it.
I used the same technique to stamp the pump (also from French Countryside) using Basic Gray, Gray Granite, Gorgeous Grape, and Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Markers, then fussy cut the image using Paper Snips.
After I embossed the front of a Night of Navy card base with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, I adhered the stamped pieces and the frame.
I’m happy to add that my Butterfly Garden from last year has returned! Mike doesn’t like it, but I love having gorgeous flowers greet me outside our front door. Here’s my rainbow and sunshine for today.
What’s your rainbow today?
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
