Thank you for all the well wishes! I am feeling much better today. I don’t know if it’s because I got a wonderful Amelia-fix last night, or the natural remedies I’ve been using, but I have apparently had a very mild case of shingles. Two weeks ago I was in the ER with chest/back pains that scared Mike. What really scared the medical professionals was my blood pressure, which was through the roof. Well, I know I need to eat better and exercise, so I had just started doing aerobics and yoga, which really helped my blood pressure. And then I got this rash…My Jonathan diagnosed it. He said, “Mom, you might have shingles.” Yep. That’s what it was. And that was what was causing the back and chest pains. One of the first things in the information I read said was, “don’t work out.” UGGGGH! I had just gotten into a routine.
I think I’m ready to go back into a gentle yoga routine, but in the meantime, my dear friend Jackie sent me some natural products to help me on my recovery. I am very excited about the products she sent, because I’d much rather use natural products for healing than synthetic ones. But also in the package she sent me was this gorgeous card.
Jackie has been one of my favorite designers for a very long time. I remember the first card I CASEd from Jackie. There was a lot of white space and some Night of Navy and beautiful flowers. It was breathtaking. And she has grown so much as an artist – even though I thought she was at the peak 10 years ago!
This card helped speed me on the road to recovery. Honestly, I felt so bad, I didn’t want to even walk into my craft room, but when I got this card, I wanted to create.
Jackie used two of my favorite products for this card – the Grace’s Garden Bundle and the Peaceful Poppies Suite. First, she die-cut a piece of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper (DSP), then she framed it with the gate die-cut from the Garden Gateway Dies.
The sentiment is from the Honey Bee Stamp Set die-cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Before she added the smaller Poppy Parade layer to the Poppy Parade card base, she embossed it with the Absolutely Argyle 3D Embossing Folder.
Seriously, how can you not feel better after getting a card like this? Jackie – you rock!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
