Christmas Wishes
Happy Wednesday, Stamping Friends! This week/month/year has flown by. I must be getting old. It seemed like time crawled when I was young, but these days it’s moving so fast I can’t keep up!
One that that hasn’t changed is our Virginia State Bird. Virginia is one of several states that claims the cardinal as the state bird. Amelia loves seeing cardinals in our backyard. She really wanted the Toile Christmas Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog so we could stamp blue jays and “red jays.”
The Christmas Cardinal Dies that I didn’t think I needed arrived yesterday, so I broke them in today. First, I used my Stamparatus to ink the cardinal and branch with Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce, Basic Black and Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Markers. Using the Stamparatus enabled me to layer color a little more.
I used an Aqua Painter to pull the color into the images a little, then I die-cut the images with the Christmas Cardinal Dies.
There was a little extra room on the Whisper White Piece that I stamped on and die-cut from, so I inked the sentiment banner using Shaded Spruce and Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Markers, then die-cut it as well.
I used the Scripty 3-D Embossing Folder to give a little texture to the Whisper White layer. After I adhered it to a Shaded Spruce card base, I added the stamped/die-cut elements. Finally, I added a bow using the Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Diagonal Stripe Ribbon.
This card was much quicker to assemble than I thought it would be. I may use this design for all my Christmas cards! I’d better decide on something and get to work soon, though! Christmas is right around the corner, and if time keeps flying like it has been, I’m going to miss the holidays altogether!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
