Falling Leaves

Falling Leaves

Happy Wednesday, Crafty Friends! I have another fall card today. One of my stamping friends posted a challenge to use one of the Cajun Craze combinations for a fall card. I chose Cajun Craze, So Saffron, and Old Olive (with a little Crumb Cake and Tangerine Tango thrown in for good measure).

The leaves are turning beautiful colors right now, and one type of tree has beautiful, bright orange leaves. I tried to replicate those in this card.

Birch, Stampin' Up!, Snow Front, Itty Bitty Greetings

I used the Snow Front Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog for this. First, I stamped the trunk in Early Espresso, then the leaves using Tangerine Tango. This isn’t quite the brilliant orange I wanted, so next time I’ll try Mango Melody and maybe a little Pumpkin Pie.

For the “ground” and sentiment, I used Crumb Cake Classic Ink. After I die-cut the image layer and the center of the bottom Cajun Craze layer using Rectangle Stitched Framelits. The So Saffron layer was a bit blah, so I stamped it with the Birch background stamp using Crushed Curry Classic Ink.

I dithered a bit about embellishments or ribbon. I decided to use a little Copper Trim. I stretched it open, then added it under the stamped layer. I think it looks like a scarf blowing in the breeze.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons, so this card was a lot of fun to create. After our summers, I’m always happy for fall weather, but I also look forward to spring after a harsh(ish) winter. The only part of fall that is a little sad is nightfall coming a little earlier. Usually by the time it’s dark, though, I’m ready to be snuggled inside.

Be sure to check in on Friday for our latest BS&J challenge!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Buffy, this is so pretty, in the fall colors. The Copper Trim adds the perfect extra punch

You captured the fall colors perfectly. Our fall was one of the prettiest I have seen in a while. Then we had big winds earlier this week and all the leaves are gone. Sad. Pretty card!

A beautiful fall card, Buffy! I like how you compared the copper trim ribbon to a scarf blowing in the wind 🙂
