Sketch Challenge Stamp Off
Welcome to another Friday Stamp Off with Susan, Jackie, and me. First, I just want to say, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUSAN!!” How fun is it that her birthday landed on a challenge Friday?
This week’s challenge is a sketch. It’s from the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog, page 140 (top left). Here’s the sketch.
I decided to use the Feels Like Frost Suite for my card, because I wanted to use the Frosted Frames Dies.
Using the Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) made this card so simple. First, I layered a piece of the DSP to the front of a Highland Heather card base. Then I diecut the frame from another design of the DSP using the Frosted Frames square frame.
To keep the stitching idea going, I die-cut the sentiment – stamped in Blackberry Bliss Clasic Ink on the same DSP design as the frame – using the Rectangle Stitched Dies, then used an idea from Susan Horr for the banner. Simply diecut the rectangle, then position the corner of the die as shown here.
This “stitches” the banner tail as well. Thanks, Susan! Such a cool idea.
I added the frame to the card, but before I added the sentiment, I die-cut a few of the floral pieces from Sparkle Glimmer Paper using the Frosted Frames Dies. I sponged these with a little Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink before adding them to the card. And, finally, I added the sentiment.
So – a few diecuts, one stamp and done! So easy, but don’t you love the way it looks? And, trust me on this, the sparkle from the Glimmer Paper is gorgeous in real life.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
