CASE-ing Susan
My dear friend Susan creates the most elegant and gorgeous cards. Every time I open her blog, I am “wowed.”
Recently she shared a “card with a pop of white.” It was lovely, and I had to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) it. I used slightly different colors, but most of it is the same.
Isn’t that fun? I don’t know why the frame looks so (as my dad says) “Whoppyjawed.” It’s straight on the card. Must be the camera angle.
Here are the details. First – Emboss the front of a Balmy Blue card base with the Brick & Mortar 3-D Embossing Folder. Die cut the oval frame using the Heirloom Frames Dies from Whisper White Cardstock. Place the center into the coordinating embossing folder, then place the frame into the embossing folder around the oval and send it through your Die-cutting & Embossing Machine. How gorgeous is that embossed frame? (Answer – totally gorgeous. This was one of the first things I zoomed in on when I saw the sneak peeks at OnStage in April.)
Next, die-cut another oval frame from Balmy Blue Cardstock. Save the large Balmy Blue frame and the smaller Whisper White center for another project. Stamp the sentiment from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set on the small Balmy Blue oval using Night of Navy Classic Ink. You’re going to add this stamped oval back into the frame. That’s why it’s not embossed; it’s a separate layer.
Stamp two medium daisies from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set and two large daisies from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set in Night of Navy Classic Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. (Note: You can use the large daisy in the Daisy Lane Stamp Set if you don’t have Daisy Delight. I just hadn’t used Daisy Delight for awhile, so that’s why I used it.)
Use an Aqua Painter or Blender Pen to blend the ink into the flowers. Then punch the flowers with the Daisy Punch and Medium Daisy Punch. Layer them to create a large flower, and add a Perennial Essence Floral Center to the center of the large diasy. (Just a reminder: Bundle the Daisy Lane Stamp Set and Medium Daisy Punch to save 10% over the retail price!)
Punch two sets of leaves from Whisper White Cardstock using the Leaf Punch, then assemble everything as shown.
When I showed Mike the five cards I had made over the weekend, this was his favorite. Of course it was his favorite. It’s blue. He’s definitely a blue guy.
Don’t forget you can join my team this month for $99 (plus tax) and select $155 in product for your starter kit – including Holiday Catalog products if you’d like. You’ll also get a $10 coupon to use in September. What are you waiting for?

Ha ha! I have never heard ‘whoppyjawed’ before! Yes, it’s the camera angle. Such a beautiful card – love the blues. I like to case Susan’s cards, too 🙂
