Over the Moon
Being a farmer’s daughter, the Over the Moon Stamp Set in the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog called to me. My family’s main products were apples, peaches, and polled Hereford cattle. This is not a polled Hereford cow (or bull), but I love him (or her. It’s kind of hard to tell….).
I used the sample in the catalog from our amazing Stampin’ Up!® concept artists for this card. I changed the colors a bit, though.
First, I stamped the barn door image from the Barn Door Stamp Set two times on a Pool Party card base using Pool Party Classic Ink. (Using the Stamparatus makes this so easy!) Then, I added a punched banner using the Rococo Rose pattern from the 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack and the Banner Triple Punch.
Finally I got to the cow/bull/heifer/steer- whatever. I’m going to call it a cow. I stamped the dreamy eyed cow as well as the grass and heart images, using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I decided to color the images with Watercolor Pencils because this is an easy coloring tool for new stampers. I simply colored the images with Basic Black, Real Red, Melon Mambo, and Old Olive pencils. I added a little more “grass” using an Old Olive Watercolor Pencil – and I blended it a little with a Blender Pen. So easy! I remember the first time I used Watercolor Pencils years (and years and years) ago. I was so proud of my results. These are a great confidence builder.
Finally, I stamped the “dream big” sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then notched the edge with Paper Snips.
I layered the elements with a lot of Stampin’ Dimensionals. The “dream big” banner is the only element that was layered “flat” with SNAIL Adhesive.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Too cute! And I don’t usually say that about grown cows! This card is really sweet – great layout & colours 🙂

That cow (I am being safe here) is adorable. I am not a big real life cow person (the are huge and smell) but I do like this one!
