Sailing Dandelions
I think being at the beach is definitely influencing me. I noticed that most of the cards I’ve made this past week have been using the Come Sail Away Suite. Of course, it could also be that I love that suite, or that’s it’s Father’s Day week and Sailing Home is a great set for guy cards. Whatever the reason, here’s a card I made last week while I was in Georgia. (Obviously it was the thought of going to the beach that influenced this one.)
I wanted to mix some different elements from the Stampin’ Up!® Catalog. First I started with the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set. I stamped the dandelions in Seaside Spray on Very Vanilla Cardstock, then die-cut using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.
I absolutely love the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper (DSP). I layered a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of the DSP to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Soft Suede Cardstock, then to a Seaside Spray card base. I added the dandelion layer to the DSP, then added the Soft Suede diecut from the Well Written Dies. I used a few In Color Faceted Enamel Dots in Seaside Spray and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a little shine.
The last addition was the twine. I love the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine. It’s perfect for the nautical suite.
We are having so much fun. Amelia is loving the beach, but she’s also having a great time in the pool as well. Today she made several friends, and she also put her whole face in the water. Not bad for a little girl who was afraid to even get in the water until later last summer.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I know. I told her the other day to slow down. She just looked at me and said, “I don’t know how.” She did try, though.
