Seaside Sailing

I’m really enjoying the new Sailing Home Bundle from the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. This was a quick card I made on vacation. I’m not sure about the colors; I wanted to use new In Colors, but I think Seaside Spray may be a little to light. It’s a lovely color, and I really like it, but I think Pretty Peacock might have worked better.

I stamped the lighthouse, anchor, and compass from the Sailing Home Stamp Set on Whisper White Card Stock in Blueberry Bushel ink. Then I die-cut them with the Smooth Sailing dies. If you bundle the stamp set and dies, you can save 10%.

I used the Seaside Spray designs from the 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (DSP) for the background paper. I cut the paper at 4″ x 5-1/4″, then used the leftover strip for the left side. I added these to a Whisper White card base, then added the die-cuts.

Again, I’m not sure how I’ll use this card, so I haven’t added a sentiment. It may be a Father’s Day card for Wesley from Amelia. They’re here with us in Daytona Beach Shores this week. She was so cute on the beach. It’s her first time to see the ocean, and she was so excited. She loved watching the tide come in, and we built a sand castle – kind of. It was more like a “sand mound,” but it was kind of cool. We also played in the pool for a bit. Usually when Mike and I are at the beach, I sit in my chair and read, and my back doesn’t see much sun. This time, I was playing, swimming, and digging in the sand. Since I forgot to put sunscreen on my shoulders, I’m a bit red. But we had so much fun.

Wes is flying home Thursday so he can go back to work on Friday. Mike, Amelia, and I are leaving Saturday, and we’ll be home Sunday. Since Wes has to work and we’ll probably get home too late to see him, we’re going to celebrate Father’s Day a little early. Amelia and I are taking Mike & Wes out to dinner this week, so I need to get a couple cards ready for them. I actually have a card for each of them, but I forgot to bring them with me. Guess they’ll get to celebrate twice!
