Retiring Dies Stamp Off

Retiring Dies Stamp Off

It’s another fun Stamp Off Friday! This week, we’ll be showing you our favorite retiring dies. When I looked through my retiring dies, I saw quite a few that I really would miss. But when I came to the Petals & More Dies and the coordinating Petal Palette Stamp Set, I know that would be my choice. I loved that bundle and used it a lot.

I think this card will be so much fun for an anniversary or a wedding card. First, I stamped the flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then die-cut them with the coordinating die. I used Light and Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends and Light and Dark Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends. Then I die-cut the leaf spray from Call Me Clover Cardstock.

I cut the leaf spray into smaller pieces so I could move it around a little. I thought it would be fun to have two little birds sitting on a branch. Ah, but that stamp set doesn’t have “opposite birds.” Here’s a quick video showing how I managed to stamp the backwards bird and die-cut it as well.

Fun, right? This opens up so many possibilities!

I added a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of the Balmy Blue design of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper Stack (DSP) to a Grapefruit Grove card base. I added most of the die-cut leaves under the stamped flowers. Before I adhered the die-cut elements, I simply placed them on the card to get an idea of where to add the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel Classic Ink. After stamping, I adhered the flowers to the bottom right edge of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added one branch at the top of the card and placed the birds on it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I still thought I needed a bit of blue in the flowers, so I added a Blueberry Bushel bow in the flowers.

Now check out Jackie’s and Susan’s favorite retiring dies! I can’t wait to see what their favorites are.

Remember – the Petals & More Dies, Petal Palette Stamp Set, and the Gingham Gala DSP will all be retiring June 3, so don’t miss out on your favorites! Also, many Last Chance products have been discounted up to 30%. Discounts will go into effect at noon MT on May 30.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Buffy, your card is wonderful. I love the way the birds are suspended on the branch above the sentiment. You are so brilliant and the video process!!

Thanks, Jackie! Thankfully, the shadow makes it look like the branch is coming in from the side and not just suspended in mid air. Oops. As we learned with the frogs, always check placement!
