Mediterranean Promenade
Here’s another card using one of my favorite retiring stamp sets, Mediterranean Moments. This is a wonderful stamp set to watercolor. You can stamp it in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and either color with Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers, or Classic Stampin’ Ink and Aqua Painters or Blender Pens.
I decided to use my favorite technique – watercoloring with the Stamparatus. I cut a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock a little larger than the stamp, inserted the card stock and stamp into the Stamparatus, then started adding color to the stamp . This was a very fun (and very quick!) card. I know it looks like a lot of work, but it really wasn’t. I inked the bricks with a Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker, the doors and windows with Night of Navy, the greenery with Garden Green, and the motorcycle/scooter with Real Red and Basic Gray. I added some Soft Suede, Gray Granite, and Crumb Cake to some of the other elements – the floral boxes, door frames, and the transom window over the doors, and some Crushed Curry to the curtains in the upstairs window.
As I always do with this technique, I kept adding color until I was happy. Then I used an Aqua Painter to blend some of the color into the images. Finally, I used the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker to add lights to the transom over the door.
I used Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set for the sentiment in Gray Granite. Then I added the stamped panel to a Gray Granite Cardstock layer. I loved the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper design that I used. It works so well with the stamped image. Finally, I added all the elements to a Gray Granite card base.
Several months ago, I needed a thinking of you card for a male friend. Most of the cards I had in my stash were more suited to females. This would be perfect for either gender, don’t you think? But it would be very good for a male. I wish I had thought of it back then! I know if I sent this to my husband on Father’s Day (with a different sentiment), he’d think he was getting a motorcycle as a gift. (I need to sell a lot more product to buy him a motorcycle. Help me out, Stamping Friends!)
I didn’t add embellishments or ribbon to this, because it may be for a guy. But I might add some ribbon or even some sequins later, depending on who I send it to and for what occasion.
Be sure to order this amazing stamp set by June 3, because after that, it will be gone. You may find it, but it will be for a lot more money that it costs now. Trust me, eBay and Amazon sellers take advantage of your procrastination. Don’t procrastinate. Buy this set today.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
