Going, Going…

Going, Going…

…Get it before it’s gone! The Stampin’ Up!® Bright Wishes Stamp Set has always been one of my favorites. I decided to give it at least one more go before it retires on June 3.

Bright Wishes, Stampin' Up!

The well image is beautiful if you stamp it in either Tuxedo Black Memento Ink or Jet Black Stazon and color with Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Write Markers or Classic Stampin’ Pads or Watercolor Pencils and Aqua Painters or Blender Pens. I decided on a faux watercolor with the Stamparatus.

I placed a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Watercolor Paper into my Stamparatus, then adhered the stamp to the plate. Using one color at a time, I inked the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers. I first used Gray Granite on the shingles, then some Crumb Cake and Soft Suede on the wood. By using the Stamparatus, you can add layers of color if your image isn’t dark enough, and you can work on one section at a time. It’s so much easier than the “old days” when we colored the entire image with markers, breathed on the stamp to reactivate the ink, then stamped and hoped for the best. If you miss a spot when you’re using the Stamparatus, simply go back and ink the stamp again.

After I had everything outlined, I used an Aqua Painter to blend the ink into the images a bit. I didn’t want to blur the edges too much, but I did want the images to have color.

The final touch was to add a bit of Balmy Blue with my Aqua Painter for the sky. I trimmed the paper, then rounded the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch.

Although I didn’t use any of the colors from the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP), the colors in my image seemed to “go” with the design I used. I added the DSP to a Crushed Curry Card Base, then added my stamped image with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment, also from Bright Wishes, is stamped in Coastal Cabana Classic Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, then die-cut with the Layering Ovals Dies. I sponged a little Crushed Curry Classic Ink on the edges.

I needed one more thing, so I added some of the gorgeous Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green Reversible Ribbon to the card.

So many things on this card are retiring – the stamp set, the DSP, the ribbon, the Lemon Lime Twist (give me a moment…), Berry Burst, and Tranquil Tide Ink, and the Watercolor Paper (but don’t fret! We’ll have new Watercolor Paper in the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog beginning June 4).

Order your favorite retiring products now! While stamp sets will be available toward the end of May, retiring DSP, retiring In Colors, and retiring accessories are only available “while supplies last.” Don’t miss out; order now!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Such a beautiful image, and your colouring is gorgeous! I’d like to sit next to that little well with a cup of coffee and a book 🙂
