To a Wild Rose

To a Wild Rose

Here’s a quick sneak peek for you! It’s the To a Wild Rose stamp set from the Stampin’ Up!® 2019-2020 Annual Catalog available June 4.

To a Wild Rose, Floral Essence, Free as a Bird, Stampin' Up!

This set is a beautiful DistINKtive set, inspired by Million Sales Achiever Mary Ellen Byler. There are three images for the rose and three for the leaves, but I only used two of the stamps for the flower and the leaves. The third is an outline, and I thought it looked better without it. But – I do love having the outline if I decide I want to watercolor the image.

For this card, I started with a card base of Rococo Rose, one of the new In Colors for 2019-2021. Then I stamped a flower image from the Floral Essence Stamp Set several times in Versamark on the card base.

I am so in love with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (DSP). I think this may be the first time I’ll use all the paper in a pack before the catalog sales period even starts. It’s so beautiful. I added a 2″ strip along the side of the card base.

I stamped the rose images in Rococo Rose Classic Ink. The more detailed image was stamped full strength; the “filler” image was stamped off one time, then stamped over the original. I love the way it looks. For a final touch, I stamped the center in Crushed Curry Classic Ink. I die cut the rose and leaves with the Wild Rose Dies (which you can bundle with the To a Wild Rose Stamp Set and save 10%).

The leaves were stamped the same way, using an Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Pad. I’m not quite as happy with them; the detail is missing a little. With the DistINKtive stamps, especially photopolymer ones, you have to be careful that you don’t get too much ink on the stamp.

The sentiment is from another new set, Free as a Bird. I stamped it in Old Olive as well, then punched with the new Timeless Label Punch.

So there you go – a sneak peek of three new stamp sets, a DSP, a punch, and a new In Color. These will all be available June 4. You’re going to love the new catalog! If you’d like one, please send me your address and I’ll send you one free; you only have to pay shipping.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
