Beautiful You Rainy Day
I was creating the other day and realized that I had a lot of “sneak peeks” from the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog (available June 4), but not many new samples for current (retiring and carrying over) stamp sets. So I broke out one of my favorites, Beautiful You, and paired it with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Well Said Stamp Set from the 2019 Occasions Catalog. (Note: Both the Beautiful You and Well Said Stamp Sets along with the Well Written Dies are all carrying over to the 2019-2020 catalog.)
I chose the umbrella image from the stamp set because the design from the Perennial Essence DSP reminded me of a rainy day. (The Perennial Essence DSP will be in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, and you’ll be able to purchase it beginning June 4.)
I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then colored with Blueberry Bushel, Crushed Curry, and Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Markers and an Aqua Painter. The umbrella wasn’t quite dark enough, so I colored it again with the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker directly onto the image.
Since my card base was Purple Posy (one of the 2019-2021 In Colors), I chose Blackberry Bliss Cardstock as a mat for the image layer. Of course, I had already chosen my DSP. And the sentiment (in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink) fit really well on the image layer.
I realized after I scored the card base that it wasn’t the standard size. I had just grabbed a piece of card stock from my stash. Hmmmm. I cut it down to 5-1/2″ x 7-3/4″, then scored at 3-1/2″. It looks like a note card in the photo, but it’s really a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card; the front half is just a bit narrower than the back. I love the way it turned out. Sometimes our mishaps turned into the best projects in the end.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
Product List (Note: Since the Perennial Essence DSP and the Purple Posy Cardstock won’t be available until June 4, they aren’t included in the product list.)
I am so glad all of these products will be in the new catalog. Your card is beautiful. Now I have to buy that DSP!
