Beautiful Day
Today was a beautiful day, in more ways than one. The weather was lovely; it was a perfect spring day. Amelia and I had planned to visit my mom and dad this morning. Between Wesley’s leave time and Stampin’ Up!® OnStage, I hadn’t had grandma duty for two weeks. I had spent time with Amelia, but we hadn’t been together long enough to visit her “Mimi and Papa,” so she was looking forward to seeing them today.
When we got there, my mom met me at the car and told me Dad had been a little disoriented and was having vision problems. I could tell she was a little worried, which is unusual for Mom. After chatting with Dad, who, in Amelia’s words, “was having a hard time seeing and was a little wobbly,” I suggested we call his doctor. Long story short – we also called the ambulance to take him to the Emergency Room.
I’m happy to say that after a long day in ER, Dad is now home and looking so much better. He had a stroke, which sounds awful, but compared to some form of dementia, it’s nothing. When the doctor told Dad he had the brain of a young man, Dad immediately started getting better. Now that dementia is off the table, I expect him to live a long and healthy life! So Dad being fine is the most beautiful part of this beautiful day.
Another part of the beautiful day is this. Amelia and I had planned to go to a movie with her friend Gabby. When Amelia wasn’t there, Gabby asked her cousin (my friend Christy) where she was. Christy explained that my dad was sick so we couldn’t make it to the movie. Little Gabby said, “Oh, I’ll pray for him!” I love the faith of children. So here’s the thank you card I made for Gabby for praying for my dad.
I stamped the butterfly image from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, then colored with Dark Melon Mango, Dark Mint Macaron, Dark Poppy Parade, and Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends. I added a few splatters around the butterfly using a Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad.
I layered the stamped image to a piece of Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper, then to a Whisper White card base. Easy!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Hope you see the beauty in every day!

Thanks, Jackie!! I’m definitely going to use more paper this year. (Didn’t I say that last year?) I LOVE the gingham paper, though. It’s hard not to hoard.
