Stampin’ Up!® Ontage 2019 Make & Takes
I had the opportunity to attend the Stampin’ Up!® OnStage event in Charlotte, NC, last weekend. So. Much. Fun! Mike & I left Thursday morning, had dinner with my friend Susan Horr and her wonderful husband Rob, then shopped a little on Friday before Susan & I attended CenterStage. CenterStage is an event for Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators who have earned the title Silver Elite and above. There’s dinner and training, and, at live events there’s also entertainment.
It was so much fun to see new catalog product and, of course, to receive the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. A perk of attending OnStage is that we get to preorder selected products a little earlier than anyone else. It’s called the Product Purchase Premiere (or PPP for short), and according to my order, I am in LOVE with the new catalog.
Here are the Make & Takes from the event.
This card uses the Bird Ballad Suite, with the Free as a Bird Stamp Set and Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (DSP). Isn’t this paper beautiful? One side of each of the designs has something “bird-ish,” and the other side is a more neutral or geometric design, so it’s very versatile. Of course, the lovely Very Vanilla 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim works perfectly with the designs. There’s also a set of Stitched Nested Labels Dies that coordinate with the Stamp Set, and when the catalog goes live for customers on June 4, you’ll be able to bundle the stamps and dies and save 10%. Other suite products include the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin (beautiful laser-cut card fronts, so when you add your cardstock under it, the card is any color you want), and the Bird Ballad Trinkets.
This is another absolutely gorgeous pack of DSP called Perennial Essence. Honestly, Stampin’ Up!® hit it out of the park with DSP this year. The designs in this paper are so lovely. The designer for the Perennial Essence DSP actually hand painted the designs using ideas from an art gallery. These are beautiful enough to frame and hang in your home.
The card uses the Floral Essence Stamp Set and Perennial Flower Punch (again, you can bundle them and save 10% from June 4, 2019 – June 2, 2020). Other elements in the suite are Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock (Old Olive, Petal Pink, So Saffron), those fuzzy little Perennial Essence Floral Centers (so fun! These look so real, I almost started sneezing), and Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon. The twine on this card is from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack – a spool of linen ribbon with white edges and a spool of Mossy Meadow Linen Thread.
This is the Follow Your Art Suite, and it’s going to be a big hit with paper crafters! Besides the It Starts with Art Stamp Set and Arts & Crafts Dies, there’s a Button Button Embossing Folder, Follow Your Art DSP, Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit, Follow Your Art Washi Tape (one design is the Stampin’ Up! logo. So cute!!), and mini Stampin’ Up! Shipping Boxes. And it won’t surprise you to know that you’ll be able to bundle stamps and dies to save 10%.
This is what the last new catalog product Make & Take will look like when I make it. Since Stampin’ Up!® is “between die-cutting machines,” they didn’t ask for volunteers to bring theirs to the event. But this card calls for die-cuts! There was a simpler version we could create with just stamping, but I knew I’d be getting the entire Come Sale Away Suite, so I’ll post my card after my order comes tomorrow. Yes, I did pay a ton of extra money on shipping so I could get my order early. I love living on the east coast of the US until I have to wait 10 days for an order to arrive. My treat to myself is expedited shipping on preorders.
Elements in this nautical suite include the Sailing Home Stamp Set (and if you love the current High Tide set, you’ll be thrilled to know that it is also in the new catalog!), Smooth Sailing Dies (yes, you can bundle them with the stamp set and save money), Come Sail Away DSP, Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack, Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine, and the Sail Away Trinkets – little anchors that can be attached to ribbon or twine and ship wheels.
This was an extra Make & Take. The May Paper Pumpkin Kit is called “Hugs from Shelli.” Stampin’ Up!® Co-founder and Board Chair, Shelli Gardner, partnered with the Paper Pumpkin designers to create this kit. You need to order a prepaid kit or subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by May 10 to receive the kit. If you’re outside the US, you’ll be able to order this kit as well! Go to stampinup.com and use the demonstrator finder feature to find a demonstrator in your country. He/she will be happy to help you order the kit!
This is one of the four card designs. It’s so quick and simple, but so beautiful, don’t you think? I had my twine perfectly rounded around the tag, but then it got all tangled up in the dimensionals I used to hold it in place, so it’s not as elegant as it was. What can I say? Sometimes I have adhesive issues.
You can learn more about this kit in this video.
So that’s all for now. I had a lovely weekend. Sadly, Susan didn’t have as lovely a time. She woke up Saturday morning with a horrible stomach bug and couldn’t make it to the event. She’s better, but still not 100%. I’m just glad her husband was with her to keep her company and bring ginger ale. That and our drive home in pouring rain were the two down sides of the weekend. Oh – and I stepped in a puddle on the way to the convention center, so my feet were wet all day Saturday. My shoes were still wet Sunday, so I quickly changed my plan about traveling clothes! Fortunately, I had an extra pair of shoes that looked cute with jeans!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. If OnStage looks like fun, consider signing up to be a Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator. The next event is in November, and I’d love to have you join me! Of course, there are lots of other amazing benefits to being a demonstrator. Contact me to learn more, or sign up here.
Have a lovely day!
