Dandelion Seasons
Hi, Stamping Friends! I’m totally into spring this week. The weather has been lovely, even though we’re enjoying April Showers today. Ok, maybe “enjoying” isn’t the right word. Last spring was so…wet. It rained from March until November, I think. So having a day of rain makes us happy because rain is important, but we really don’t want quite as much rain as we had last year. I mean, my garden drowned. Seriously. Nothing grew. All my vegetables drowned.
So here’s a quick joke for you. If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring? Pilgrims. (That was a favorite of my kids’ years and years ago. They had a “punny” joke book.)
I wanted to create a spring card for you, but I also wanted to use the Stampin’ Up!® Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set. So here’s what I came up with.
We’re not in the “blow on the dandelion and make a wish” season yet. Actually, I haven’t even seen a dandelion in the yard. But it’s coming, and soon. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the Dandelion Wishes image using Smoky Slate and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Markers. Looking back, I should have used the Mossy Meadow for everything, because these are full bloom dandelions.
After I was happy with the dandelion images, I used a Sponge Dauber and a Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad to color the dandelions. So easy!
Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set in Calypso Coral. I thought the card was a little blah, so I added some Timeless Textures splatters in Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green (stamped off several times to mute it a bit).
After I added the Whisper White panel to a Calypso Coral card base, I decided to add a little Calypso Coral Satin Ribbon to the card. I thought it needed a little pizzazz. And I have ribbon I need to use up before the next Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog comes out.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Thank you. And yay!! I just looked out the window and so do we! We had about three when I first looked after I read your comment. Now the yard is full of them. Looking forward to feeding the bees!!

Do you remember getting ‘bouquets’ of dandelions from your boys, Buffy? My boys did that for me, too – and buttercups! Thanks for sharing your card, and bringing back some good memories! 🙂

Where I grew up it was almost a sin to have dandelions in the yard. I spent hours pulling them out of the lawn. Now they say the bees need them so not to pull them out. My Dad would have a heart attack. Cute card and cute joke!

Thanks, Susan. I had that same job!! We let ours grow, but my dad still gets rid of them. Old habits…
