Floral Stamp Off Friday

Floral Stamp Off Friday

Welcome to another Stamp Off Friday Challenge with Susan, Jackie, and me. This week is a Floral Stamp Off. Let’s face it. We all have flower stamps. Every year, more flower stamps are added to the Stampin’ Up!® Catalogs, and no matter how many you already have, there’s that one (or five) new one(s) that you have to have. A friend once asked me, when she was trying to justify not ordering more flower stamps, “How many flower stamps to you need?” My answer – “Just one more.” Because each flower set has that one thing you just can’t do without, am I right? (She has ordered many, MANY flower sets since she asked that question, so obviously she agrees with me.)

I decided to use the Vibrant Vases Stamp Set from the 2019 Occasions Catalog for this challenge.

Stampin' Up!, Vibrant Vases, Well Said

Spring has sprung here in the Shenandoah Valley. It looks like we’re totally finished with first, second, and third winter! Mike mowed last weekend, so he has decreed winter is over.

Whether or not that’s true, I love the spring feel of my card for today. I used the Vibrant Vases Stamp Set for the images. I love when Stampin’ Up!® introduces a product that works with older products. Vibrant Vases coordinates with the Vivid Vases Stamp Set and Vases Builder Punch in the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. I stamped the vase outlines in (l-r) Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide, and Crushed Curry. Then I stamped the insides with Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, and Daffodil Delight, and punched with the Vases Builder Punch.

After deciding where I wanted the flowers, I stamped the flower images with my Stamparatus and Stampin’ Write Markers on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I used (again from l-r) Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Berry Burst and Old Olive, and Mango Melody and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers. Then I stamped the inside images with (l-r) Daffodil Delight, Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist, and Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pads.

I added a strip of the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper to the bottom of the stamped Whisper White Cardstock, then adhered the punched vases using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I think the reason we love flower images is because they work for so many occasions – birthdays, sympathy, weddings, anniversaries, get well – and, of course, thank you cards. I decided to make a thank you with mine. I stamped heartfelt from the Well Said Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog in Tranquil Tide Classic Ink. Then I die-cut thanks and the butterfly using the Well Written Thinlits Dies and added them to the card. I need to use some of my ribbon before it all retires, so I added a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Ombré Ribbon to the card fold. One day, I will stop hoarding my ribbon and embellishments. (It’s a sickness.)

Now – check out what Susan and Jackie have created for the Flower Challenge! I always have an idea of what they’ll use, but I’m usually wrong.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
