Let it Ride

Let it Ride

One of my favorite stamp sets from the Stampin’ Up!® Occasions Catalog is Let it Ride. I love the sentiments; Amelia loves horses. So between the two of us, this was one of our first picks when the catalog came out.

Let it Ride, Stampin' Up!

My friend Jackie Susnik has done some lovely things with this set. I needed one more design for my classes this month, so I CASEd (Copy and share everything) one of her cards. I changed a few things, but not much. Her card was so perfect that any changes I made took away from the awesomeness.

Let it Ride, Stampin' Up!

Isn’t that fun? Here are the details.

First, I punched a 2″ circle from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP). On a separate piece of Whisper White Cardstock, I stamped the horse image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then colored with Stampin’ Blends. I used a Light Crumb Cake and a Light Soft Suede with a little Petal Pink for the ears.

Next, I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp on the Soft Suede card front using Early Espresso Ink. One of the most striking things about Jackie’s card was the Basic Black layer along the edge. I used the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss it, then added it to the front of the card.

When I cut my Whisper White Cardstock for the horse image, I trimmed a bit off for the sentiment. I simply notched one edge with my Paper Snips.

To create the “bow,” I looped the Old Olive Linen Thread several times, then tied another little piece of thread around it to keep it together. Then I added it to the card with a Glue Dot.

Some of the ladies in class decided they’d rather have the row of trees instead of the horse. (I won’t tell Amelia.) We used Shaded Spruce to stamp the trees, and they looked lovely.

Thanks, Jackie, for the awesome inspiration. You rock!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

This is a great card. I love the Corrugated EF behind it. Adds a lot of dimension.

Terrific textures with the corrugated card and wood DSP. I’m with Amelia – horses for the win! 😉
