You Are My Sunshine

Welcome to a Friday Stamp Off with Jackie, Susan, and me! This week, our theme is “You Are My Sunshine, My Only Sunshine.” We can use blue skies, sun, clouds, or a combination. I chose the combination.

When I read “You Are My Sunshine…,” it made me think “happy.” And water and mountains always make me happy. I chose the Waterfront Stamp Set from the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog for my water and mountains.

First, I started with the water, stamping it over and over in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Classic Ink. Then I added a little Clear Wink of Stella (with some Coastal Cabana Ink Refill added to it) over the water for some sparkle from the sun.

The mountains are stamped in Shaded Spruce, and then I added a shoreline in Soft Suede. Of course, the sun is Crushed Curry.

I decided a hot air balloon would also be fun, so I stamped one of the smaller balloons from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set on Whisper White Cardstock. I used Blackberry Bliss, Petal Pink, and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers and my Stamparatus to color the stamp. Of course, I used the Up & Away Framelits dies to die-cut the balloon and cloud.

I was very happy that my sentiment fit on the cloud! I stamped it in Bermuda Bay Classic Ink, then added more Clear Wink of Stella to the edges of the cloud. I also added a bit of Balmy Blue to the sky with a Classic Stampin’ Pad and an Aqua Painter.
