Stamp Off Drinking Challenge

Stamp Off Drinking Challenge

Welcome to another Friday Stamp Off with Susan, Jackie, and me. This week, it’s Time To Start Drinking!

It didn’t occur to me until tonight that it’s almost St. Patrick’s Day, so green beer would have been fun. But I’m not Irish, so I feel like a fraud if I celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. (well, I may be just a tinch Irish, but my dad always said, “That last time you cut your knee all the Irish blood drained out.”)

Instead of green beer, I have a green teapot!

Tea Together, Stampin' Up!

I doubt that there’s green tea in the teapot. I know it’s good for you, but it’s not my thing. We used to have a really fun tea room in town and they had pages and pages of tea choices on the menu. I like tea like I like coffee – plain with no flavors – so I ordered plain black tea. I’m very boring when it comes to my drinks.

This teapot – from the Stampin’ Up!® Tea Together Stamp Set, however, looks a lot like the coffee pot my mom used to use when guests came over, and we had the fancy little cups and saucers as well. So we can pretend this is coffee, because that is definitely my drink of choice.

How To

Here are the details for the card. Although I could have stamped the image on Soft Seafoam Cardstock, I decided to use Whisper White Cardstock instead. There were parts (like the inside of the cup and teapot spout) that I wanted to stay white.

I die-cut the teapot, cup, and flowers using the Tea Time Framelits Dies. You can earn these dies FREE with a $100 order during Sale-a-bration. Using the Stamparatus, I stamped the images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the diecuts. (You can read more about that technique here.) Then I colored the teapot and cup with Light and Dark Soft Seafoam Stampin’ Blends. I love the way it gave it a little mottled look. The flowers are colored in Mint Macaron and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends.

I added a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) to a Soft Seafoam card base. I cut a Pearlized Doily in half, trimmed it a bit, then added the two halves under the teapot and cup.

The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set in the Annual Catalog. I stamped the banner images and sentiment on Soft Seafoam Cardstock using Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink, then punched with the Duet Banner Punch.

The last touch was to add a Pearl Basic Jewel to the top of the teapot lid.

This card makes me feel happy. I think it’s because it evokes memories from childhood – and it uses Calypso Coral, one of my favorite colors!

Want more happy? Check out what Susan and Jackie are drinking! Coffee? Tea? Wine? Beer? Or maybe just water? Oh, the suspense. I can’t wait!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

What? Tea instead of coffee? Who made this post? 🙂 I love your green teapots and cups!
I love how you put the die cuts under the tea pot and cup to look like doilies.

Buffy, apparently our brains went to the same place in terms of using the tea set. This is so pretty and I was trying to figure out the doilies. You created such a unique look by cutting portions of the doilies.

I too prefer coffee, but a good cup of tea hits the spot too! Love your teapot & cup; very proper 🙂
