Beautiful Day on the Blueberry Coast
My February Card Class order from Stampin’ Up!® arrived yesterday. As I was sorting and bagging the products, one order caught my eye. It contained Blueberry Bushel and Coastal Cabana Cardstock. I fell in love immediately! It’s a gorgeous combination, and I had to give it a whirl.
Don’t you love it? I realized that I must have had Susan’s card from yesterday stuck in my head, because I used the Well Written Framelits Dies like she did. I didn’t consciously try to CASE her, but somewhere in my subconscious her card was hanging around!
This was very fun to create. First, using the Stamparatus, I stamped the butterfly from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set in Blueberry Bushel on Shimmery White Cardstock. After cleaning the stamp – without moving it!, I inked it again with Versamark and stamped over the Blueberry Bushel ink. That made it easy to heat emboss with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. You can also use Watercolor Paper for the butterfly. I like Shimmery White, because I can get four card fronts from one sheet of card stock.
I used an Aqua Painter and Blueberry Bushel and Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Pads to watercolor the butterfly. (Did I mention I love those colors together?) After it dried, I cut it out with Paper Snips.
I meant to stamp a background or use an embossing folder on the Blueberry Bushel Cardstock layer, but adhered it to the Coastal Cabana card base too soon. (I also wanted to die-cut the thanks sentiment from the center of the Blueberry Bushel layer to save paper, but forgot that too. Yes, I’m getting old.)
A 2″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Coastal Cabana dotted design from the Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper breaks up the Blueberry Bushel a bit and gives a little more interest to the card front. I also added a little die-cut bird (also from the Well Written Framelits) in the corner.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy today. Be sure to check in tomorrow for another Stamp Off challenge with Jackie, Susan, and me! Have a lovely day.
