Perfectly Paired

Perfectly Paired

I have so much fun crafting with my granddaughter, Amelia. She’s four and loves to stamp. She especially loves stamps she can color.

When I was looking at the 2019 Stampin’ Up!® Occasions Catalog, I invited Amelia to look with me. I told her she could pick out a set or two. I thought she’d pick the Nine Lives, Happy Tails, or Let it Ride Stamp Sets, because she loves horses, cats, and dogs. But she didn’t. I was shocked. Well, maybe she didn’t insist on them because she knew I had already chosen them for me, because I also love dogs, cats, and horses.

The set she insisted on was Perfectly Paired. I like that set, but I don’t know anyone having babies. I don’t even know people whose babies who are having birthdays, so it wasn’t on my first Occasions Catalog preorder order. When the box arrived, she helped me open it. “Where’s my stamp set?” she asked. Oops.

She didn’t mention it again, so I didn’t put it on my next order either, thinking she had forgotten about it. When the order arrived, she was right there looking for it. Oops. “Are you sure you want that one? What about the Family & Friends set? Look at all the people you can create with that set!” Nope. She wanted Perfectly Paired. Probably because she knows even I can draw stick figures. Not as sophisticated as the ones in the stamp set, but at least they’re recognizable as people.

You can be sure that the Perfectly Paired Stamp Set was on my next order. She was thrilled when it arrived, and we’ve used it a lot – mostly just for her art gallery (the wall beside her table in my craft room). Here’s our latest card using the set.

Perfectly Paired, Stampin' Up!

This is a #simplestamping card, for sure! I used a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Highland Heather Cardstock and stamped the image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The ark stamp is a little larger, so I used the Stamparatus for the ark image to be sure it was all inked well. I added two fish and the sentiment – which are both included in the Perfectly Paired Stamp Set – to the card.

I adhered the stamped layer to a Whisper White card base. Inside the card I stamped a couple more fish and the for the little one coming your way sentiment. I do have two nieces getting married soon, and I’m holding out for more grands, so maybe I’ll be able to use this in the next year or so.

Since our Stampin’ Up!® challenge this month is to create a #simplestamping card using stamps, ink, and paper with the added bonus of ribbon, I added a little piece of Gorgeous Grape 1/4″ Mini Striped Ribbon to the front of the boat with a Glue Dot.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! Have a lovely day!

That is just the greatest story. Apparently that 4 year old memory is working perfectly. Love the card and her persistence!

I have really wanted this set, but like you I don’t know of any babies coming in the near future. I was blessed with a niece 9 months ago today, but I don’t see any more in my near future. I am so excited for the day when my Miss Emma comes over to stamp with me! (My sister and her family live right behind me, so she won’t have to walk far =) ). I see much conning in my future!
