Stamp Off Color Challenge
Welcome to a new Stamp Off Challenge with Susan, Jackie, and me. This week, we have a fun color challenge.
Are those gorgeous colors? It’s such a lovely palette. I decided to break out my Lovely Lattice Stamp Set that I selected for a free Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-bration product for my card.
First, I used the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies to create the Smoky Slate layer. I ran the 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of card stock through the Big Shot with the die that “stitches” a design into the card stock. Since the stamped image was very detailed, I didn’t add anything else to the Smoky Slate layer before adding it to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Blackberry Bliss Cardstock layer, and then to a Mango Melody card base.
Using the Stamparatus, I stamped the floral image from Lovely Lattice in Smoky Slate Classic Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, then again in Versamark so I could emboss it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used an Aqua Painter to pick up ink from Smoky Slate, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, and Call Me Clover Classic Ink to color the flowers. After cutting it out, I sponged the edges of the lattice with Smoky Slate Classic Ink. The Mango Melody flowers needed a little more, so I used some Pumpkin Pie ink to color the centers.
I wasn’t happy with the way the Blackberry Bliss flowers turned out, so I stamped and embossed the image one more time. This time, I colored the flowers with Stampin’ Blends. Then I cut out some of the flowers and layered them back to the original with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This gave it a little more dimension, and I was much happier with the way they looked.
I stamped the sentiment from the Golden Afternoon Stamp Set in the 2019 Occasions Catalog in Blackberry Bliss ink on Whisper White Cardstock, then die-cut it with a die from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies.
The final touch was ribbon. The Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon worked ok with the Blackberry Bliss flowers, but I wanted it to be a little richer. I cut a strip of Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon (which is Whisper White with a silver metallic edge) and colored it with the Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blend, then added it to the card with a Glue Dot.
So there’s my SmokyMangoBerry card! Please head over to Susan’s and Jackie’s blogs to see what they’ve created. I know I say this every time, but I can’t wait to see what they have in store. They always blow me away with their creativity.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Buffy, I love the 3-d look of those raised flowers. It’s funny how sometimes the “problem” becomes the best part of the card!

Thanks, Susan! My “fixes” definitely made it better, but I’m still not sure about the greens…
