Simple Birthday Card

Here’s a super simple birthday card using Stampin’ Up! products. Honestly, this card takes about two minutes once you have all the supplies.

My friend Deborah post a very similar card to this one the other day. It was such a wonderful idea for anyone with limited time, I had to make one.

First, create a card base from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock. Next, take a sheet of Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper (DSP) and cut it to 4″ x 5-1/4″. Run it through the Big Shot with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I love that little bit of dimensions that it brings to the card! I sanded the embossed areas a little, just to bring it out a bit. I used an old Stampin’ Up! Sanding Block, but if you don’t have one, you can find blocks anywhere. My favorite is the dollar store in the nail care area. You get two or three for $1. – or, at least, you could years ago when I bought mine. They’re white rectangular blocks.

Layer the DSP to the Lovely Lipstick card base.

Next, die-cut Happy Birthday using the Happy Birthday Thinlits Dies from Basic Black Cardstock and again from a foil sheet. I used Lovely Lipstick, which was part of a free Sale-a-bration product, but it’s gone now. You can easily use another color foil, or simply die-cut from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock. Another option would be Rose Glimmer Paper. That would be lovely as well!

Adhere the Basic Black die-cut to the card, then add the top die-cut. You’ll want to slightly offset the top one so it looks like a shadow underneath. Finally, die-cut a small heart from the same paper/foil as the top Happy Birthday die-cut using the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies. Emboss with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, then add the heart to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This is such a versatile design. You can easily substitute the Celebrate You Thinlits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, or Thank You Thinlits for the birthday one, change the DSP and foil/shimmer paper/card stock colors and you’re set for any occasion!
