Tea Together

Tea Together

When I looked at my Stampin’ Up!® Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration preorder, I realized I had let Miss Amelia help me plan my order a little more than I should have. She actually wanted every set in the catalog, but especially the Nine Lives and Happy Tails Stamp Sets (cat and dog stamp sets. That was a given, of course.), the Let it Ride Stamp Set (another given. This is a stamp set with horses.), the Family & Friends Stamp Set (“builder” people), and Perfectly Paired (a Noah’s Ark set). We may get the Family & Friends set later, but I only got the dogs, cats, and horses for her this time. (Just a note: I did get a few for me as well. But I moved some of my first order stamps to the second order, and now I’m regretting it. But how do you say, “No,” to an adorable grand?)

I thought she would forget what she picked out, but, of course, that didn’t happen. As soon as she saw the box, she asked, “Where are the ‘kid stamps?'” I had to admit that I hadn’t ordered them this time, and I got a very stern look. She had a lot of fun with the Nine Lives Set, though, so I think she has forgiven me.

Tea Together is a stamp set I got for me. I really don’t drink a lot of tea, but I love tea stamp sets. Years ago when one of my dear friends sold Longaberger baskets, we toured the factory and enjoyed tea there. And another dear friend invited some of her friends (including me!) for a tea at her home. It was amazing! We had so many lovely sandwiches and sweets, and we got to try several different flavors of tea.

So, while I still need my morning coffee to get me going, I do enjoy a good cup of tea and “tea time” in the afternoon!

Here’s a quick card – and sneak peek! – I made tonight using the Tea Together Stamp Set. It’s one of the sets in the Stampin’ Up!® Occasions Catalog. For Sale-a-bration, you can earn the coordinating Tea Time Framelits Dies free if you place a $100 order.

Tea Together, Stampin' Up!

Katelyn was showing me her beautiful planners today, and one layout used several blues and plummy colors. I had to snap a photo so I could use the colors later. Like – today, in this card.

The Details

Once I decided on colors and Designer Series Paper (DSP), the rest was easy. I die cut the tea cup, tea pot, and one flower from Whisper White Cardstock using the Tea Time Framelits Dies, then, using my Stamparatus and the “template” I created from the die-cuts, I stamped the images onto the die-cuts with Jet Black Stāzon Ink. To see how to do this, check out this post.

I used a Blender Pen and Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, and Rich Razzleberry Classic Stamping Pads to color the images. I wanted it to look a little old and weathered. I also stamped an extra flower on the teacup and one more on the tea pot and colored them as well. (The die-cut one got added to the tea pot with Stampin’ Dimensionals.)

Using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, I created the border for under the Tea Room Designer Series Paper (from the beautiful Tea Room Suite in the 2018-19 Annual Stampin’ Up!® Catalog).

When I started to add the die-cuts to the paper, I realized the paper was a bit busier than I thought, so I added a couple Pearlized Doilies under the cup and tea pot.

The sentiment in Bermuda Bay is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock. I punched with the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch, and layered it between the two stamped images using Stampin’ Dimensionals. (After I took the photo, I moved the sentiment up a tad so it pulled the two stamped images together.)

Here’s the final (edited) project.

Tea Together, Stampin' Up!

I’m going to enjoy this set a lot, because even though it’s technically about tea, you could also put coffee in that pot, I think.

Your card is beautiful. I love the colors. Amelia has great taste in stamps! One thing though – you can NOT put coffee in a tea pot. There is nothing worse for a tea drinker when they drink tea out of something that had coffee in it! The taste is awful! 😱

Thanks, Peggy! I love this set (and I also love tea in the afternoons but coffee in the morning. We’re definitely bosom buddies.) . The Nine Lives set is so fun. I’ll post a card with it on Monday or Tuesday.

Beautiful vintage look to your tea set, Buffy. The colouring is perfect! High tea is an extra special occasion, isn’t it? All those tiny sandwiches & treats! 🙂
