Color Stamp-Off

Color Stamp-Off

Welcome to another Stamp Off Friday with Susan, Jackie, and me. This week we have a color Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

These are all Stampin’ Up!® colors that are perfect for fall, and they’re some of my very favorites. It was hard to decide which row to select. Poppy Parade is my favorite red, though, so I knew it would be a poppy row. I decided on the far right vertical – Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, and Poppy Parade.

Colorful Seasons, Stampin' Up!

This is continuing my week of Quick and Easy Cards. I didn’t think twice about the stamp set I wanted to use. I went directly to the Colorful Seasons Stamp set.

First, I stamped the tree branch two times in Early Espresso Classic Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Then I stamped the leaves in Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight Classic Ink.

I thought it needed a few embellishments, so I added some Faceted Dots in Basic Black. They are just a little shimmery, but keep the “rustic” feel of the card.

I stamped the sentiment, also from Colorful Seasons, in Early Espresso Classic ink. I wanted to add one more element, so I pulled out my Leaves Trinkets. I’ve mentioned before, but it’s worth saying again. At Stampin’ Up!® events, we get so much product. There are products in our bags. There are products at events. There are products if you’re walking down the hall and answer a trivia question correctly. And, at Local events, they pass the “Make & Take” basket around at the end of the event, and we get to select one thing each time it passes us. Last November, we used the Leaves Trinkets on a make & take. There are 24 trinkets in the container, and we only had six people at our table. That’s a lot of leftover trinkets! I chose that for one of my freebies, because I hoard embellishments, and I don’t feel so bad about that if I don’t have to pay for them. (I know; it’s a sickness.) The trinkets are copper and silver; I used a silver one on my card, but I colored it with a Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend.

I attached the trinket with Mini Glue Dots. I think this is the easiest way to attach heavier embellishments. After I finished stamping, I adhered the Very Vanilla layer to a Poppy Parade card base.

This card has special meaning today. Amelia and I took Max back to the vet for a check-up. He’s seen four different doctors since his eye emergency two weeks ago. The last two times, it seemed like he was doing great and everything was good news. Today, the doc was new, and she put him back on all the meds he had when he started and gave me grave instructions. I was totally bummed after the appointment.

After we left, Amelia and I went to visit my mom and dad. My niece from North Carolina is visiting, and today was the last day to see her before she goes back home Saturday. It was so peaceful, and Max, Amelia, and I all enjoyed spending time in the woods and the beautiful yard. We raked leaves and jumped in them, rolled down hills (well, Amelia did), and walked in the woods. It was a beautiful day. That was probably the inspiration for my card. It reminded me that no matter how old you are, you still need your mom and dad sometimes. (Well, lots of times!)

Please drop by Susan’s and Jackie’s blogs and see what they’ve created for our color challenge. I can’t wait to see what they’ve made!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I love the leaves floating off of the branch, Buffy! It’s exactly what’s happening in my yard right now. I’m sorry to hear that Max is not better yet; I hope the medication will do the trick this time!

Thanks, Deborah! I was inspired by Dad & Mom’s trees, I think! I actually believe Max is better. It’s just each time he sees a new doc they freak out. It was so bad in the beginning, that no one knows how much it has improved. Yesterday’s vet finally thought to take a picture for his file.
