Quick & Easy Card Week – Pretty Kitty #2

Quick & Easy Card Week – Pretty Kitty #2

Here’s my second “Quick & Easy Card” using the Pretty Kitty Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!® This is a gatefold card.

Pretty Kitty, Stampin' Up!

Score a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Pool Party Cardstock at 2-1/8 and 6-3/8″ along the 8-1/2″ side. The fold both sides in to create the gatefold.

Cut two 2″ x 5-1/4″ pieces of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper (DSP). Layer over the front pieces of the card.

For this card, the DSP does most of the work. I love the striped design, don’t you?

I stamped the image from the Pretty Kitty Stamp Set on Whisper White Cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then die-cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. If you can only buy a few framelits, I’d suggest the Layering Ovals, Layering Circles, and/or Layering Squares. They make card making and layering so simple.

Die-cut a slightly larger scalloped oval from Petal Pink Cardstock. Color the kitty with Petal Pink, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, and Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends. Layer to the Petal Pink Scalloped Oval, then add to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. (Note: be sure you only add Stampin’ Dimensionals to one side of the oval layers or you’ll seal your card closed.)

If you need a card in a hurry, Gatefolds are simple but add a fun twist to the card. And using DSP on the front flaps acts as a background and a complement to your stamped image.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Thanks, Susan! I love gatefolds, because they’re simple, and you don’t absolutely have to have extra tools unless you’re a perfectionist. 😉 I am enjoying the Twinkle Twinkle. It’s another one I didn’t think I needed, but it’s lovely.

You’re right – the striped paper is gorgeous! I love the colour combination, and gatefolds are such fun. Has Amelia claimed this card as her own, as well?! 😉
