Postcard Pals Thanks

Postcard Pals Thanks

“The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” Oh, Robbie Burns, how right you are! I had planned to craft this entire weekend. I was going to create such amazing projects that you would gasp in awe. Of course, we had Amelia’s birthday party on Saturday. After that, I just needed a nap.

Sunday morning, I had a lovely reunion with my college roommate (see pics here), then Mike & I played all afternoon. We went shopping, then had dinner at Olive Garden (our go-to now that our local Macaroni Grills have closed). And today?

Today I made thank you cards for Amelia’s birthday presents. Stephanie was going to buy thank you cards. Seriously? I’ve told my family members over and over that they do not need to buy cards. Ever! Just let me know, and I’ll have cards for you. I’ve even offered to make cards for Mother’s Day and my birthday. They think I’m kidding, but I’m not.

So this morning, I made thank you cards to send for Amelia’s birthday.

Postcard Pals, Stampin' Up!

I love the Stampin’ Up! Postcard Pals Stamp Set. Amelia chose it, of course. But I’m so glad, because it’s such a perfect set for so many things.

First, I cut Highland Heather and Calypso Coral cardstock at 5″ x 7″ for the card bases. Then I scored at 3-1/2″ along the 7″ side to create 3-1/2″ x 5″ cards. I cut Whisper White cardstock at 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ to get eight pieces from each 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock.

I stamped the platypus image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, then colored it with Stampin’ Blends. So fun! Then I stamped the “Just a little note to say…” sentiment, also in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Amelia likes to write her own notes, so I’m not sending these until after tomorrow when she’ll be here with me. She can write A and B really well, because those are her letters (for “Amelia’ and “Buttercup”), and she likes to add hearts so she can say, “I love you, and thank you for the gift.” We’ll finish up tomorrow, but for now, these are the thank you cards.

I made the envelopes using the Envelope Punch Board. I love being able to create custom envelopes of any size! This is a must-have tool.

No matter that my plans took a little turn, I had an awesome weekend! I hope you did too!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

These cards are super! And I’m sure it makes a fun time for Amelia to say her “thank yous.” You are such a good grandma. Happy Birthday to you.

Thank you, Sandy! (Yours will be in the mail tomorrow!!) She wrote a sweet note on each one. Ok – she can only do a few letters, but they mean, “I love you and I love my gift.”
