Stamp-Off Color Challenge
Welcome to another Stamp Off! Friday. This week, we have a color challenge.
Aren’t those colors fun? Mango Melody is one of the new colors in the Stampin’ Up!® Brights Collection, Pool Party is an old favorite from the Subtles, and Pineapple Punch is one of the In Colors for 2018-2020. Here’s my card.
The hardest part about this card was keeping Amelia from pulling the cat off the card. She really, really wants it. (I promised to make her another one later.)
It may look like I just gave a little nod to Pineapple Punch in that one tiny flower, but I really did use it more than that. When I colored the cat from the Sitting Here Stamp Set, I used Mango Melody and Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends, blending them together to create my little yellow cat. The flowers, also from Sitting Here, are colored with various Stampin’ Blends – Poppy Parade, Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch, Pool Party, Cajun Craze, and Mango Melody.
Sitting Here has a porch swing in the set, but I decided to use a bench die-cut from the Pretty Park Framelits Dies in Crumb Cake. These dies coordinate with a new set from the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog, Sitting Pretty. (You can bundle the dies and Sitting Pretty stamps and save 10%.) One of the dies in the framelits set embosses the stones instead of cutting them, so I used that one the Gray Granite ground.
After adhering the ground, bench, and flowers to the Pool Party layer, I added it all to a Mango Melody card base. Then I added the cat to the bench with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Now, please check out what Susan and Jackie have created. I can’t wait to see how they used the color palette.
I’m so excited about tomorrow. Miss Amelia is spending tonight with us, then we’re taking her to a Book Fair. The fair runs for three weeks, but Saturday is “Ag Day,” with farm animals, petting zoo, a free book, face painting and more. Of course, we’ll also be checking out the books – especially in the kids’ area. That little girl loves to read books. Mostly we read to her, but lately she’s been reading them to us. If it’s a story she knows well, she sticks pretty closely to the book. Sometimes, though, she makes up her own story to go with the pictures. It’s really fun to listen to her!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Buffy, this is beautiful! I think the best use of the Pineapple and Mango was to blend them together on that cat! Such a relaxing, peaceful card. Hopefully you will post a pic of Amelia with her little fact painted (and remember to make another cat for her!)

Thanks, Susan! That’s why I used the Pineapple and Mango for the cat. If I had colored it like Ashlynn, it wouldn’t be relaxing or calm. She’s a psycho cat.
