Around the Corner with the Animals

Around the Corner with the Animals

I had the most fun creating this card the other day. I used three stamp sets – Bunch of Blossoms, Animal Outing, and Around the Corner – to make this “shadowbox card.” What I love most about it is that when it’s closed, it lies flat, so you can mail it easily. Take a look.

Animal Outing, Around the Corner

I covered the front of the Sahara Sand card with a layer of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP). Then I stamped the It’s Your Day corner sentiment in Early Espresso on the top left and bottom right corners.

After die-cutting a square from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, I stamped the sentiment from Bunch of Blossoms, then added the frog and leaves from Animal Outing. I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White Cardstock, then colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.

Here’s the inside.

I added more DSP and a Pumpkin Pie frame inside the die-cut window. Then I added the stamped and die-cut images from the Animal Outing Stamp Set and Animal Friends Framelits Dies. (You can bundle them and save 10%.) The sentiment is from the Hostess Set, Hand Delivered, so I guess I really used four sets. I punched it with the Lovely Label Punch, but I trimmed a bit off. (See this post for details.)

Here’s a photo of the card from the top. You can see how it turns into a shadow box when open.

This card is quite easy to create. I used this video from Jennifer McGuire for instructions. It only takes one 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of card stock, plus extra DSP and cardstock for the frames, punched sentiments, and die-cuts.

Quick Mom update: She came home Monday and is doing great! She’s back to her old self and all her numbers are nearly perfect. Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
