All about the Beach Stamp Off

All about the Beach Stamp-Off

Happy Friday, Crafty Friends! Susan, Jackie, and I are celebrating summer this week with a beach challenge.

Stamp-Off Friday

Sadly, this photo is as close as I’m going to get to the beach for awhile. Between Mike’s busy schedule and a new dog, we’re staying closer to home until November. Then we’ll be heading to Orlando, Florida, for Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live! I can’t wait. Wes, Katelyn, and Amelia are going with us, and I can’t wait to see her at Disney World. Plus, we’re celebrating Stampin’ Up!’s 30th Anniversary. What fun!

I had lots of ideas for a beach picture this week, but I decided to go simple.

This is very like the card I posted yesterday, but I created this card first. I went with my favorite beach colors – Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay. Here are the details.

Start with the watercolor wash layer. On a 2-1/2″ x 4″ piece of Shimmery White Cardstock, scribble the bottom third with the Pacific Point Watercolor Pencil. Then blend with a paintbrush and water or an Aqua Painter. Next, scribble the middle third with a Bermuda Bay Watercolor Pencil, and blend with water. Finally, scribble the rest of the layer with a new Coastal Cabana Watercolor Pencil. This color is in the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2, which you can purchase in August, unless you’re a demonstrator. Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators can order them now, so join my team and get them early! Oh – and you can add a collection of Classic Stampin’ Pads to your starter kit!

Once the color wash layer is dry, stamp the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set with Bermuda Bay Classic Ink. Then adhere this to a 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ Crumb Cake Cardstock layer.

The card base is Coastal Cabana. Emboss the front of the card base with the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Adhere the Crumb Cake and Shimmery White layers to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Die-cut the chair from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies from Pacific Point Cardstock. Layer it to the color washed piece with Mini Glue Dots.

I can hear the ocean waves while I’m sitting in my Pacific Point chair on the Crumb Cake sand when I look at this card, can’t you?

Now, please take a few minutes to check out Jackie’s and Susan’s blogs to see what they’ve created. Challenge Friday mornings are my favorite times, because I’m always so excited to see their posts. Will one of them use the Waterfront Stamp Set? Will we see a sunset from Susan’s lake cottage? Will Jackie post a gorgeous picture from the Southwest? Ok, that’s not really beach, so probably not. But you never know! Let’s go see, shall we?

Don’t forget, if you order three packages of Designer Series Paper in July, you can add a fourth package free! See the options and order here.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a marvelous day!
