Inspired by Peggy

I look for art inspiration for my Stampin’ Up! creations wherever I can. It can be in a furniture store, where there are super cool patterns in sofas, chairs, and pillows. Or it can be in nature with gorgeous flowers and trees. I even find inspiration in a warehouse store where they have awesome beach towels. Most often, I find inspiration in fashion, specifically in clothes my stampers are wearing. When my friend Janet moved to Florida, I threatened to visit just so I could photograph her closet. Janet had (and still has!) the most amazing fashion inspiration.

A few weeks ago, my friend Peggy was wearing a beautiful top that reminded me of the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set. I took a photo (with her permission. I love my inspirational friends.  Strangers take a little more convincing that you’re not a psycho before you can take their photo!) and I made this from the inspiration.

Abstract Impressions, Stampin' Up!

Peggy’s top was so gorgeous with the pinks and greens. I created this while I was at our mountain house with limited supplies. I only took brand new Classic Stampin’ Pads and my Stampin’ Write Markers.

I knew when I saw Peggy’s shirt at class that I wanted to use the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set to re-create her top. For this card, I used Petal Pink, Grapefruit Grove, and Poppy Parade to create the flowers. The leaves are Soft Sea Foam and Call Me Clover. I’m loving the new In Colors, aren’t you? They’re so bright and pretty – and you have ROYGB- almost a whole rainbow of colors. If you need a violet, simply add one of the gorgeous new purples we have in the color palette – Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, or Blackberry Bliss.

After stamping the flowers and leaves, I added the sentiment in Call Me Clover. Instead of ribbon or embellishments (remember, I made this with limited supplies!), I punched two corners with the Detailed Trio Punch.

Thanks, Peggy, for the wonderful inspiration for this card – and for letting me take your photo! You totally rock! I’m sending you a thousand hugs!

And thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
