Poppy Basket
When Stampin’ Up! released Poppy Parade and Blushing Bride as In Colors several years ago, I thought they were a powerful combination. But now that Poppy Parade has returned and we also have Petal Pink – WOW! I love this color combination. Take a look.
Don’t you love the way they work together? The Petal Pink card base is perfect with the Poppy Parade Basket Weave embossed layer. (I’m having flashbacks from when Poppy Parade was an In Color. I think I must have been used to typing Cooper, with two o’s and one p. So poppy got mistyped quite often with two o’s and a p, instead of the other way around. It brought to mind images of the diaper drooping Rugrats.)
The little flowers from Abstract Impressions should be stamped using Petal Pink and Poppy Parade. I actually created this layer some time ago. I found it on my table and decided to add it to the card base and embossed layer. I’m fairly sure the flower colors are actually Lovely Lipstick and Blushing Bride, but they work ok with Petal Pink and Poppy Parade. Whether the red in the flowers is Lovely Lipstick or Poppy Parade, the sentiment is the same color.
The greens for the stems and flowers are Mint Macaron and Soft Seafoam. The butterfly was added later. That little guy is stamped in Mossy Meadow and Petal Pink. One day, I’m going to start writing the colors I use on the back of the cardstock so I’ll coordinate colors better.
We had our Foiled Brusho class today, and it was so fun. Everyone did a lovely job! Amelia was my greeter, and she offered everyone one of her cookies as they came in the door. She’s working on getting over her shyness with new people. She’s doing pretty well, except when she’s really sleepy. I get that. I have a hard time being outgoing and fun when I need a nap too. (Why don’t we get sent to bed for a nap in the afternoon when we turn a certain age? Even when I’m cranky, no one says, “You need a nap. Go to bed,” any more. *sigh*)
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I’m happy to know I’m not the only one who ‘forgets’ what colours she used on a card front! 🙂 These colours do go well together. I totally get Amelia being grumpy when tired; it’s like being ‘hangry’ – you know, angry/grumpy when you’re hungry!

Thanks, Deborah! And I get “hangry” a LOT! Nothing like food and a nap to make a girl feel better!
