Embedded Embossed Love

Embedded Embossed Love

I don’t know about you, but I have four guys to make Father’s Day cards for – Mike and my dad (of course!), but also Wesley (from Amelia) and Jon (from his dog Taz). Yeah, we’re one of those families that consider our pets “kids.” Of course, once we have human babies, the fur kids take a back seat. But Jon and Adrianna don’t have kids, so Taz is their baby. He gave Adrianna flowers for Mother’s Day (and promised not to “mark” them), so he has to have something for Jon for Father’s Day, right? But I digress.

Mike and my dad, as well as Mike’s dad when he was still here, always got a tree card. You have to love Lovely as a Tree for guys, right? It’s a staple! When I bought High Tide, they also got several lighthouse cards. Dad also got some farm ones – a truck with a bed full of apples, since he’s a retired orchardist, as well as a couple barn ones. I’m thinking he may get a barn door this year, but I haven’t made it yet. And, of course, now we have even more fun guy sets with Sea of Textures and Rooted in Nature.

I decided to go geometric this year for one of the four cards. No trees. No lighthouses. No octopi. Just some shapes and a sentiment.

Special Celebrations, Stampin' Up!

This card is very simple – but I love the colors and the clean shapes. I punched one Smoky Slate, three Bermuda Bay, and three Rich Razzleberry, tags using the Tailored Tag Punch. Using the Smoky Slate one as a placeholder – but not adhering yet, I arranged the other six on the Smoky Slate card. After adhering them, I embossed the card front with the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I think it kind of looks like streamers being thrown into the air. Then I stamped the sentiment from Special Celebrations in Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink on the Smoky Slate punched piece and adhered it to the center of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I think this card will be perfect for Amelia to give to Wes. She has already picked out a gift for him – and he’ll love it! Wes went back on night shift Monday, so for the next two months, I’ll have Amelia every weekday, at least for a few hours while Wes sleeps. I’m so looking forward to it! We’re going to have an awesome summer. Our biggest problem is there’s too much to do in the few hours we’re together each day. I guess we need to learn to pace ourselves and not try to do everything in one day. And this is one reason I love being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – I can make extra money on my terms and set my own schedule – which allows me to spend lots of time with my granddaughter. How amazing is that?

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Great texture and colours in this card, Buffy! I’m sure all of your ‘guys’ will love receiving it (and Taz will approve – of course he’s a fur-kid – pets are family too!)

Thanks, Deborah! I may add the Sitting Pretty bulldog to Taz’s card, even though he’s not a bulldog. Or maybe the kangaroo from Animal Outing, because Taz does do little hop-like bounds when he runs.
