Passionate about Petals
First I want to sing a little song. Rain, rain, go away! Come again another day…
Oh, my goodness. We’ve had so much rain that there’s nowhere for it to go, so it’s coming up through the floor in our basement. Ick. We just need a little break so it can soak in. My poor tomatoes are drowning, and the cat is super confused about why she has to swim to her food and litter box. Poor Mike has been vacuuming it up around the clock.
Here’s a quick card I made using the Petal Passion Suite from the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.
First, I used Stampin’ Blends to color the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. I used the light Night of Navy, Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay blends. I love this paper, but, sadly, like almost all of our Designer Series Papers (DSP), it will be retiring at the end of the Occasions Catalog sales period (May 31). It’s still available right now, but only “while supplies last,” so order now!
The roses are from the Petal Palette stamp set. I stamped in Basic Black on Whisper White, and colored with Calypso Coral and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. Then I die-cut the roses and the Lemon Lime Twist leaves with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies. While the stamp set and dies will be carrying over to the 2018-19 Annual Catalog, the bundled price (10% discount) will not. After May 31, you’ll have to buy the stamps and thinlits separately and pay full price. So add this bundle and the DSP to your order today.
There are a few other retiring products on this card. The Silver Metallic Foil Doily will be retiring at the end of May, as will the Night of Navy Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. These are hard to see, but I added a few Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes to the flowers. These little embellishments are so adorable, and they add that little something to a card without being overwhelming. They’re perfect for dew drops or raindrops. I need those today, right? The epoxy shapes are also retiring May 31.
Oh! This just gave me an idea for tomorrow’s “Out with the Old” Stamp-off Challenge with Jackie & Susan. Be sure to tune in tomorrow to see what we’re showcasing.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Thanks, Susan! It’s my therapy! The rain will eventually stop and everything will dry out. In three months we’ll be whining because it’s too dry. You just can’t please people, right?
