Accented Blooms
I’m on another “bloom” kick, I think. Remember the card I made last week using the Stampin’ Up! Garden in Bloom and Bloomin’ Love stamp sets? If not, you can see it here. And if you don’t remember, don’t feel bad. I’ve often had my stampers ask about a card we made at class the previous month. Honestly, I don’t remember the cards I made last week, let alone last month. I need to organize better!
This card uses the Accented Blooms stamp set, another new set from the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Unless you’re a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, you can’t order it until June. (But if you don’t want to wait, you can join my team of awesome demonstrators and order it in May!)
There’s a lot of “new” on this card. First, of course, the stamp set. When you see it in the catalog, it looks like someone has placed a sticky note over the sentiment, but it’s ok. No one has been vandalizing catalogs! There’s a space for you to either stamp a greeting, or stamp a greeting on another piece of cardstock and punch it with the Tailored Tag Punch (carried over from the Occasions Catalog – so you can get that now!).
For my card, I stamped the floral image in Basic Black Archival Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock, then colored it with lots of new colors – Merry Merlot, Petal Pink, Pineapple Punch, Calypso Coral, and Mossy Meadow – and a Blender Pen. Then I stamped the sentiment in Gray Granite on a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock, punched with the Tailored Tag Punch, and added it into the image with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I matted the stamped panel with some Merry Merlot Cardstock to pull that color in a bit. Gray Granite has a bit more brown than Smoky Slate, and the Petal Pink is a little on the yellow side as well, so I decided to pair those two for the card base. I stamped some small flowers from the Accented Blooms Stamp Set in VersaMark ink on the Gray Granite layer, then adhered it to the the Petal Pink card base. Finally, I added the floral layer to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! Have a lovely day.

Thanks, Susan . Your cute projects were what convinced me to get the Tailored Tag punch. I was still straddling the fence, but decided I might as well order it AND the stamp set. So it was my turn to enable!!

Thanks, Jackie! I was dithering over this one, too. I’m really glad I followed my instincts. It’s so fun to color.
