Something Old, Something New, Nothing Borrowed, but an Awesome Blue

Something Old, Something New, Nothing Borrowed, but an Awesome Blue

Well, I think that’s the longest title I’ve ever had for a blog post! But I’m so excited about this card, because it has so many retiring, returning, and new Stampin’ Up! products! Take a look.

Sweet Cupcakes, Make a Difference, Stampin' Up!

Don’t you love anything with cupcakes? My sweet tooth is screaming right now! The “something old” is, of course, the Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set and Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies. They’re both retiring, but you can still order them through May 31. The stamp set is guaranteed through May 25, but the framelits are “while supplies last,” so don’t dilly dally. The cupcakes and candles are easy to fussy cut, but you’ll miss out on the lovely words, swirls, and banners if you don’t get the die-cuts!

The Details

Stamp the cupcake liner on Whisper White Cardstock. This is a 3-step process. I stamped in Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay Classic Ink. Coastal Cabana, of course, is the Awesome Blue. It’s my favorite color ever. I think that’s because it reminds me of the beach.

For the icing, stamp in Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, and Berry Burst. What a yummy topping, don’t you think? The other “old” on this card would be the Glitter Enamel Dots that are randomly placed on the card. They’re so lovely, but the current colors are retiring. (The good news is they’ll be back in new colors for 2018-19!)

Stamp the flowers from the Make a Difference Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana Classic Ink on the Whisper White layer, then in VersaMark Ink on the Coastal Cabana Layer. (This is the “Something New.”) You can get this set in May during the early release of the Share What You Love Suite. It’s in the “A Little More, Please” and the “Gotta Have it All” bundles. Or you can wait until June to order, but you won’t get free gifts with your bundle. (See more information about the early release here.)

Round the edges of the Whisper White Cardstock layer. I used the new Detailed Trio Punch (from the 2018-19 Annual Catalog). If you’re a demonstrator, you can order it now during the preorder (join my team to enjoy this perk, plus a lot more!), but you can also use the corner rounder punch in the either the Gift Bag Punch Board or Envelope Punch Board that are available now.

Die-cut the cupcake pieces with the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies. Add the liner to the Whisper White layer using SNAIL Adhesive, then add the frosting with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere the Coastal Cabana Layer to a Berry Burst card base, then add the cupcake layer with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally – die-cut the sweet sentiment with the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. Sponge Berry Burst ink over the die-cut, then add it to the card with Mini Glue Dots.

Coming Up

Check in tomorrow for Mother’s Day projects from Jackie, Susan, and me. You’re going to be “wow”ed, I know.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I love your title, Buffy! And I love the trio of blues you used 🙂 I’d write more, but I think I need to dash off to the bakery….got a craving, suddenly!
