Time To Celebrate
I have lots of reasons to celebrate right now. Spring is (finally) looking like it’s going to hang around the Shenandoah Valley. Our businesses are all going really well. And there’s a color revamp at Stampin’ Up!
I am loving the new color palette we have. The colors are so fresh and fun. I don’t want to cheer that the colors that are retiring are going away, but I do want to celebrate the colors. Here are some retiring blues for you. (And even though I love them all, I’m not “singing the blues,” because I know what’s coming to replace them!)
Just so you know, everything on this card except the Whisper White Cardstock layer is retiring. That means, if you like any of the inks, embellishments, or cardstock, you need to order them now before they are gone. Retiring stamp sets are guaranteed to be available through May 25, but all other products are “while supplies last.”
The Details
First, stamp the large splatter background from the retiring Happy Celebrations Stamp Set in Soft Sky Classic Ink on Whisper White cardstock. I stamped it a couple times so it would be a little thicker.
Next, stamp celebrate over the splatter in Dapper Denim. Then stamp time to in Marina Mist. Pick up a bit of the Dapper Denim Classic Ink with an Aqua Painter and “whack” the Aqua Painter with your finger to splatter the ink on the cardstock. Repeat with a little Marina Mist.
Finally, add a few Glitter Enamel Dots to the card. Layer the Whisper White panel to a Soft Sky card base. Done!
I enjoy creating works of art and spending a lot of time on a card, but, honestly, most of my cards and “quick and easy.” This one definitely falls into the latter category. It’s quick and easy, but it’s still cute and will work for a variety of occasions – non-generic birthday, new baby (especially a boy!), anniversary, graduation, job promotion or retirement, and more.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

My first thought was “who made this card?” Not my Buffy! Ha! The only blue I will miss is Island Indigo but those incoming colors are gorgeous!

I love the new colors, too. And you and Jackie have had a huge influence on me, I think! (Clean & Simple AND Monochromatic? What? I did splatter, though.)

Very nice card. Yup, a little diff for you, but nice. I, too, am loving all the new colors and therefore not crying over the retiring ones. But I will miss Marina Mist. That has been my go to blue. Loving the new purples — yum. See you soon.

Fabulous card, Buffy! Simple, but not plain. I will miss Dapper Denim, and sadly I had just started to make friends with Marina Mist. Oh well – i’m looking forward to the new palette!

Thanks, Deborah! I didn’t use Dapper Denim a lot; if I used a darker blue, it was usually Night of Navy. I loved Marina Mist, but Balmy Blue is gorgeous!
