Petal Passion Suite
I think my favorite suite in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog is the Petal Passion Suite. There’s the Petal Palette Stamp Set with gorgeous images and lovely sentiments and the coordinating Petals & More Thinlits Dies (bundle the stamps and thinlits by May 31 and you can save 10%), the beautiful black & white Petal Passion Designer Series Paper (DSP), Whisper White 1/4″ Organza Ribbon, and the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. To top it off, there’s the Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack – perfect for cards or for memory keeping.
I created this quick and simple card using the Petal Passion DSP and the Petal Palette Stamp Set.
This was so easy to create. I simply colored the flowers with Stampin’ Blends. Unfortunately, due to several circumstances, the Blends aren’t available right now (but they’ll be back!), but you can also use Stampin’ Write Markers, Classic Stampin’ Pads and Blender Pens, or Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens to color the paper. I love that we have so many options for watercoloring.
The sentiment from the Petal Palette Stamp Set is perfect for a wedding or anniversary. I didn’t want to cover the DSP flowers too much (after spending so much time coloring the DSP, why cover it up, right?), so I stamped the sentiment on Vellum Cardstock using Basic Black Archival Ink. Because of the magic of the Stamparatus, I could stamp the sentiment again exactly over the original using VersaMark Ink, so I could emboss with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
I punched the sentiment with the Everyday Label Punch. Because I wanted to add it to the DSP layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I used hearts from the Metallic Enamel Shapes (keeping with the lovey dovey theme here!) to cover the dimensionals.
I layered the colored DSP layer to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Basic Black Cardstock layer. Although Fresh Fig is not one of the marker options I used, it went well with this palette, so Fresh Fig 1/2″ Woven Ribbon completed the card. It’s all adhered to a Pool Party card base.
Watercoloring is my therapy, so this card could be for watercolor mediums and the DSP. Or it could be a perfect wedding or anniversary card. You could change the sentiment and make it a lovely birthday or thinking of you card as well. The possibilities are endless!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a beautiful day!
Product List
You need to stop posting cards that make me want to buy the products you used! I haven’t gotten it yet but I might have to add it to my list! This is gorgeous!

Thank you, Susan! (And it’s only fair, because you do that to me all the time. Today, for example.)

Beautiful colouring and colours you chose, Buffy! I’m ‘late to the party’ with this DSP, so I’m playing catch up. Thanks for your inspiration 🙂

Thanks, Deborah! I got the DSP early, but have been hoarding. I have to do a better job of using it. Susan has been a good example!
