Beautiful Day
Here’s another card we’re making in March classes. It uses the Beautiful Day set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog and the Brusho Crystal Colour set.
First, stamp the flower on Watercolor Paper in VersaMark ink, then emboss with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I stamped the leaves a couple extra times so I could have more than just one. Since there’s no purple in the Brush Crystal Colour set we have in the Stampin’ Up! catalog, I mixed Prussian Blue and Brilliant Red. I also wanted a prettier green than the Moss Green in the pack, so I mixed Prussian Blue and Yellow for the green leaves. Then, use an Aqua Painter to mix the colors and apply to the image. Use more water for a lighter color.
After everything dried, I cut out the image using Paper Snips. Then I added it to a 3-3/4″ square of the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper. This is a recent addition to the Sale-a-bration products, and it’s so fun to use. You can sponge over the paper to color it, or color images in other designs with Stampin’ Write Markers or Stampin’ Blends.
The card base is a 4″ x 8″ piece of Perfect Plum Cardstock, scored and folded at 4″ to create a 4″ x 4″ card. Since we don’t sell envelopes that size, I used my Envelope Punch Board to create an envelope. To dress it up a bit, I inked the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers and then stamped on the corner of the envelope.
For the sentiment, I stamped “Happy Birthday” in Perfect Plum on Whisper White Cardstock. Then I stamped the bottom half in Basic Black on Perfect Plum cardstock, cut it out and layered it over the original sentiment.
Remember, you only have about two more weeks of Sale-a-bration. Don’t miss out on those free products. And more are being added today! Check out my online store to see the current catalog products you can earn free with qualifying orders!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
