Green Stamp-Off Friday
It’s Stamp-Off Friday with Susan, Jackie, and me! This week, our challenge is a timely one – Green/St Patrick’s Day.
I actually made a St. Patrick’s Day card, but my little helper noticed when the stamps came out, and she wanted to help me stamp. She did very well, but smudged it just a bit at the end. I was going to put a banner over the smudge, but decided just to cut it off and make it an all occasion card. After all, I don’t usually send cards for St. Patrick’s Day.
Fortunately, I did use a lot of green in my card.
Emerald Envy always reminds me of Ireland, so I used that for my card base. I love the Beautiful You Stamp Set from the Annual Catalog. It premiered in the 2017 Occasions Catalog and carried over. I’m so glad, because it’s one of my favorites – and I got it FREE! It was my “Prize Patrol” set at an OnStage event.
For this card, I stamped the image in Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Then I sponged a small piece of the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper (free through the end of March with a $50 order. Gotta love Sale-a-bration!) with Emerald Envy classic ink. When it dried, I stamped the image on it – again in Basic Black Archival Ink – then cut out the dress with Paper Snips. I decided to simply color her hat with more Emerald Envy ink using a stamp pad and Blender Pen.
The original Happy St. Patrick’s Day sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was under the image. Since it was smudged, it was simple to trim it off and make the image a bit shorter. The stamped layer and the Whisper White layer (embossed with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2018 Occasions Catalog) are both layered to slightly larger pieces of Night of Navy Cardstock.
For a little more green – and to pull in the Night of Navy – I added some Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the card base before adding the other layers. Then I thought that all those DSP gems needed some company, so I added a few Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes.
I know you can’t wait to see what Jackie & Susan have created, so take a few minutes to visit their blogs. You’ll love both of them.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I love this chick in her DSP dress, surrounded by jewels. It actually looks great cut off, so a happy “mistake” with the little Miss resulted in a neat idea.

I think you should have Amelia help you all the time. I love the green dress and the jewels. That color green is very in right now!

Terrific card, Buffy. No one would’ve known about Amelia’s ‘oops’ – the end result looks like it was intended to be that way. 🙂

Thanks, Mom! I don’t have a lot of choice regarding my helper. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
