Blooms in Color

The Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set – available free during the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration event – is a beautiful, photographic bouquet in a gorgeous vintage look. It’s a one-step stunner for all your projects! This new Distinktive stamp (patent pending) lays down the ink at different opacities, giving the finished image more depth.

There are lots of things you can do with it – stamp it randomly in a Classic Stampin’ Up! color for a background; stamp it in gray or black for a fun monochromatic black & white card; or stamp it in an archival ink and color with Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Write Markers, Classic Stampin’ Pads and Aqua Painters or Blender Pens, or Brusho; or stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and color with Stampin’ Blends. These are just a few of the options.

For my card today, I decided to stamp in Basic Black Archival Ink, then color the blooms.

Heartfelt Blooms, Stampin' Up!, Sale-a-bration

This card is very plain and basic. It’s really a “prototype” for a class, so I haven’t added a sentiment. (Note: If you’re coming to February classes, you’ll be surprised when you see the card we’re making! It uses this techinque, but it’s also a fun fold. Be sure to RSVP if you haven’t already!) It could be a great birthday card, a sympathy card, a wedding or anniversary card, or even just a “thinking of you” card.

I stamped the flower three times in Basic Black Archival Ink, then colored with Watercolor Pencils. I’ve used Aqua Painters and Classic Pads and Stampin’ Blends, but I think the Watercolor Pencils look amazing as well. After I scribbled color on the petals and leaves, I smoothed it out with a Blender Pen. I love the way it turned out.

Before I send this, I’ll add some ribbon or other embellishments and a sentiment. For now, it’s just a plain, stamped card. To create the simple card base, I scored a 4-1/2″ x 6″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock to form a 3″ x 4-1/2″ base. I used my wonderful Envelope Punch Board to create a custom envelope for the card.

If you purchase the Whisper White 12″ x 12″ card stock, the Envelope Punch Board, Blender Pens, Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad, and Watercolor Pencils, you have more than enough to earn the Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set free! Don’t wait – order today!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
