Thinking of You
Before I show you today’s project, I have news! The Buy One/Get Two Fast Fuse promotion is back. From now through Monday, February 12 (or while supplies last), you will get two free Fast Fuse refills when you buy one Fast Fuse Adhesive. That’s a great deal – and everyone thinks so, so be sure to order quickly so you don’t miss out. You can click on the photo above to order, or head to my web site here. (Edited: The promotion was very popular, and the supply is gone. You can still order Fast Fuse Adhesive, just not the “BOGT” promotion. I’m sorry!)
I had such fun making this card. It uses several stamp sets – one from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, one from the 2018 Occasions Catalog, and one from the Sale-a-bration brochure.
It’s so easy to create art with the Waterfront stamp set. I stamped the mountainous island first. I used Fresh Fig Classic Ink, and stamped it three times, two full strength, then the middle one stamped off first. For the water, I stamped it over and over in Pacific Point, then filled in with Island Indigo.
The sky needed color, so I used an Aqua Painter with Soft Sky Classic Ink to create the cloudy sky. Another stamp from Waterfront created the sparkles on the water. It still needed something (besides the sentiment from Heartfelt Blooms, a wonderful Sale-a-bration set), so I added birds in Basic Gray using the High Tide set from the Annual Catalog.
I’m definitely thinking of the warm sunshine and water right now. It’s mid-winter in Virginia, and we’re longing for spring. My friend Susan just got back from Florida, and posted lots of gorgeous pictures on Facebook. Another dear friend is in the process of heading to Key West for a new job. I’m trying not to be jealous of them! It is sunny today, so that’s something, right?
Another edit: I created a tutorial for this card (not a video, but lots of pictures!). You can see it here – https://buffycooper.com/waterfront-island-tutorial/
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

This is a beautiful card, Buffy. It reminds me of tropical islands (where I wish I was right now!).

Thanks, Susan! I wish I was there too. I thought about you when I was making it. Sorry you came back to such icky weather. What a horrible shock to your body (and mind). I mean, I know it wasn’t a surprise, but after basking in sun and warmth, it’s a letdown!

Hi, Peggy! I need to find the tripod, because I would love to make more videos. In the meantime, I’ll do a quick tutorial with pictures. Not quite as good as a video, but more helpful than what’s in the blog!

Yeah, about that…Apparently we LOVE Fast Fuse (I know I do!). It sold out quite quickly again. Almost as soon as I posted, I had to go back and edit.

Another gorgeous card with my favourite stamp set! I’d like to be somewhere sunny, too, Buffy! We’re stuck in a constant rain loop here…

Thanks, Deborah! It’s sunny here, but chilly (for us). Spring is only, what? Five weeks away? Although it looks like we’re headed for a little warmer weather next week. Yay!
