Plum Berry Thanks

Plum Berry Thanks

I’m really enjoying the Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Brochure. For a single stamp, it’s very versatile. I posted my Karen Barber CASE a few days ago. You can see it here.

For today, I used the Heartfelt Blooms stamp in Perfect Plum on Whisper White Cardstock to create a simple background.

Heartfelt Blooms, Stampin' Up!

I stamped each flower full strength, but you can stamp off some of them to give your layer more depth. Just remember, if you stamp off of the edge of the cardstock, be sure to ink your stamp again, then stamp off on scrap paper. If you don’t do this, you’ll get lines in your stamp where the edge of the card stock was. (Ask me how I know. Almost all my little tips come from experience.)

I love pairing Perfect Plum with Berry Burst or Rose Red. It’s such an elegant combination. I was going to adhere the stamped background to a Rose Red card base, but then I remembered the beautiful Berry Burst 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon. I saw this in the catalog at OnStage in November and had decided not to get it. I already have so much ribbon, I’m not sure I can use it all before it retires. But then we used it on a project at OnStage and I was sold. It’s simply lovely. No matter how amazing the photographs are, products are always more beautiful in person.

Just another little tip here. We have Gold and Silver 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon in the Annual Catalog. The ribbon part is Very Vanilla and it’s edged in the metal colors. Since it’s Very Vanilla, you can dye this ribbon with beautiful results. I was prepping for a class and ran out of a red or pink ribbon (I can’t remember what color, because it was several months ago). I saw my metallic-edge ribbon sitting in my ribbon basket and decided to give it a try. I dunked it in a mixture of ink refill and rubbing alcohol for a few minutes and let it dry overnight. GORGEOUS! So if you decide to make this card in any other color and want a metallic-edge ribbon to match, no problem! You can customize your ribbon and make it any color you want. How beautiful would it be in Emerald Envy? Or Lemon Lime Twist? Or, my favorites, Blushing Bride or Peekaboo Peach? You can bet that both the Gold and Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbons are going on my next order.

Back to the card deets. I stamped Thank You on a Whisper White scrap in Berry Burst, then punched with the Everyday Label Punch (a carry-over from the Holiday Catalog). I used a Stamping Sponge to add a little color to the edges of the label so it wouldn’t get lost in the flowers, then added it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I had to add a bit of bling, so I popped a few Berry Burst Glitter Enamel Dots on the card.

If you want the Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set (and you know you do), you can get it – or any Level 1 Sale-a-bration product – free with a $50 order. Simply order the Perfect Plum and Berry Burst Stamp Pads, the Everyday Label Punch, the beautiful Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon, the Glitter Enamel Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, and Stamping Sponges (so basically everything used on this card except the card stock), and you’re there! And, of course, you can use the products on many, many more projects as well. Unless you have a granddaughter who thinks the enamel dots are stickers and she sneaks them out when you’re not looking and sticks them to everything. But that makes her happy, and that brings me much joy.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful and joy-filled day!

I would never have put these two colors together but they look great! Thanks for the tip on coloring ribbon. I’ll have to try it sometime!
