Challenge in the Mediterranean
Today is another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Susan, and me. We have a color challenge for you this week.
How fun is that? These are three of the five 2016-18 In Colors that will be retiring at the end of the Annual Catalog Sales Period (May 31, 2018). If you love them, be sure to order them now, because once the retirement list is announced, retiring In Colors go fast. Peekaboo Peach and Emerald Envy are my favorites from this collection.
I had lots of ideas for this challenge – flowers, hot air balloon, birthday candles or balloons – but I decided to go to the Mediterranean.
I love the Mediterranean Moments stamp set. I used the outdoor café image for my card. I stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink, then used Peekaboo Peach, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Crumb Cake, and Smoky Slate Classic Stampin’ Pads with a Blender Pen to color the image.
To create the menu board, I stamped the image again in Whisper White Craft Ink on a scrap of Basic Black Cardstock, then embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cut it out with Paper Snips, then pieced it to the board.
If you follow Susan’s and Jackie’s blogs, you’ll see that I borrowed a layout they both used in the past several days. It really draws attention to the stamped image. I wrapped some Emerald Envy Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and Gold Mini Sequin Trim around a layer of Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (DSP) then added it to the Peekaboo Peach card, All that was left was to mat the stamped layer with Peekaboo Peach Cardstock, then stamp the sentiment. I love this layout. It’s especially fun with smaller stamps.
Take a few minutes to check out Jackie’s and Susan’s blogs today. I can’t wait to see how they used these colors. It’s the first thing I look at on Fridays. Sometimes I check in even before coffee. (I know – Shocker!)
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Thank you, Susan – but you don’t need to step up anything. Your card today was gorgeous.

Buffy, this is absolutely wonderful. It’s funny how you wouldn’t think to pair those bright colors with this set, but the outcome is warm and delightful. Nice the way you pieced the chalkboard.

Thanks, Jackie. You’re right – I would never put those colors together (especially with this set) – but I love the outcome.
