Lovely Wishes
One of the first sets I got from the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Occasions Catalog was Lovely Wishes. It has such pretty flourishy flowers and sweet sentiments. The flowers are two-step, so you can color them by hand, or use the second stamp. So fun!
I used the You are one of a kind sentiment on the Petal Palette card here. Today, I decided to work with the flowers as well as the sentiments.
In keeping with my promise to myself to get out of my rut and use products I’ve been neglecting, I pulled out my Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack. These are 12″ x 12″ sheets in the five 2017-2019 In Colors – Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst, Powder Pink, and Lemon Lime Twist.
I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the outlines of both flowers. The centers are Tranquil Tide (for the leaves) and Fresh Fig (for the blossoms). I pulled a little of the Fresh Fig into the tops of the flowers with a Blender Pen. I love the way it turned out.
Instead of stamping the sentiment in black ink, I decided to use Perfect Plum, another neglected color. I love how well it coordinates with Tranquil Tide. I matted the stamped layer to Perfect Plum, then added a strip of the DSP to the card under the stamped layers.
This card is fairly simple, and since I used the Stamparatus, the new positioning tool from Stampin’ Up!, it was fairly quick. After I stamped the outlines, I stamped the flowers all at once, and then both sets of leaves at the same time. Easy! Here’s a quick tip from demonstrator Linda Heller (that I didn’t use, obviously, since the leaves are a little off). After you lay your cardstock in the positioner, and place your stamps where you want them, close the plate to adhere the stamps. Then place something non-porous and clear, like a window sheet, or the imaging sheet from a Stamp-a-ma-jig, over the cardstock and stamp. That way you can see before you mess up cardstock if it really is going to look like you imagined. Genius!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

What a “lovely” card, Buffy. It seems to have a tranquil effect in the midst of the whirl of things I “should” do today!
I hope you have a lovely day!

Thanks, Mom! I thought those colors were very comforting as well. (Maybe the “Tranquil” Tide.)

Thanks, Susan! Now I just need to use DSP and ribbon on the same projects. I’m determined to stop hoarding.
