Monochromatic Birthday

Hi, Stampers! Today is a very good day. Besides the fact that I’m ready for Christmas (woot woot!), it’s December 20. Today is the day those of us on the team that helped design the Stampin’ Up! Stamparatus could preorder it. I, of course, expedited my order, so it should be here Friday. However…I expedited an order last year and our local UPS driver loaded his truck and left the warehouse before my package arrived. So if that happens this year, I may not have it until Tuesday. UGH! I cant wait until Tuesday, so I’m crossing my fingers that my driver won’t leave at 3 a.m. again.

What’s a Stamparatus?

“What’s a Stamparatus?” you ask. It’s an awesome stamp positioning tool from Stampin’ Up! Since I’m on the Leader 2 Leader (L2L) team that helped design it, I’m over the moon excited about it, because it’s been a long process. Basically those of us on the team observed and answered surveys and the corporate team did all the work. But, still – I’m proud to be a part of this, even if it’s just a small part.

More Class Cards

While you’re waiting for the Stamparatus  – and I hope you’ve reserved yours! You can reserve one through December 30. You need to add payment information, but you won’t be charged until your Stamparatus is moved to your shopping cart (beginning March 19). – here are a couple more cards we made at card classes in December.

I CASEd this design from a swap from my friend Christy. There were several differences, but the basic design is Christy’s.

The Details

First we stamped images from the oh, so versatile Colorful Seasons Stamp Set onto Whisper White Cardstock. The ink color corresponds to the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack (DSP) color we used, as well as the card base (either Tranqil Tide or Fresh Fig). A Blender Pen pulled some of the outline color into the open leaves.

We tried to keep all the leaves close to the bottom 2/3 of the card so the sentiment (from the Number of Years Stamp Set) would stand out. Of course, the sentiment is the same color as the leaves, card base, and DSP, or it wouldn’t be monochromatic, right?

After layering the stamped layer and the DSP to the card base, we added Washi Tape from the Basics Pack 1 (for the Fresh Fig card) and Basics Pack 2 (for the Tranquil Tide card). Note that the Washi Tape for the Fresh Fig card isn’t Fresh Fig, but it looks great! That’s one of the cool things about Stampin’ Up! products – everything coordinates!
